ABOUT US

For over 60 years, the California Municipal Treasurers Association (CMTA) has helped California’s local government finance professionals lead, promote and enhance the fiduciary responsibility and integrity of individuals responsible for public funds.

CMTA provides one of the few dedicated forums in California focused specifically on treasury, investment, banking, and public debt management.

Developed and sustained by treasury professionals, CMTA serves as the vehicle for quality assurance, comprehensive education, high professional standards, and public accountability in all areas of treasury and debt management. CMTA is focused on providing meaningful training for those having fiduciary responsibilities for their public agency. CMTA is committed to providing resources, professional development, and networking to assist you in becoming more informed and engaged in debt and investment matters. Our members come from all corners of the state, representing cities, counties, and special districts.

Contact the CMTA office by email at staff@cmta.org or by phone at 916-231-2144 with any questions, or visit the website at www.cmta.org.

The CMTA Annual Conference provides a highly focused environment for learning and connection, with:

• Targeted breakout sessions on treasury, debt, and investment topics

• Opportunities for meaningful interaction with peers and industry experts

• Pre-conference sessions offering deeper, hands-on training

Our intentionally sized community allows for stronger engagement and more valuable networking.

LEGISLATIVE ADVOCACY

Our legislative advocacy group is tracking and setting policy direction that directly impacts how we conduct ourselves in our fiduciary oversight.
