Followers of Christ, Spreading God’s Love

Welcome to Saint Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church. As we begin August, we get closer to the start of school, football season, and a new program year at our church. There are great adult classes planned including Faith and Society featuring the Mayor, County Judge and others; a fascinating Bible Study class focusing on Abraham as seen by Christians, Jews, and Muslims; and a new young adult fellowship class. And of course, there is a plethora of Sunday School offerings for our youth and children from Pre-school through High School. Just get ready, it’s going to be great at Saint Michael this fall. Rector Search and Transition Committee Seeks Your Input. The committee is collecting names of priests who might be considered as Saint Michael’s next Rector and is appealing to parishioners to suggest candidates it should review. “We cannot emphasize enough that parishioners are the best sources of potential candidates,” according to Van Sheets and Diana Newton, cochairs. The committee also will be asking the parish to participate in a comprehensive survey later this month that will be used in developing a Parish Profile for use in the Rector search process. If you have suggestions contact any member of the Rector Search and Transition Committee, or submit your ideas to rector.search@saintmichael.org. Saint Michael’s Worship Service Livecast on Sundays. Wherever your travels take you this summer, you can worship with Saint Michael and All Angels. The 10:00 Sunday morning worship service in the Church is livecast. The new Fellowship Class – geared for 25 – 50 year olds – will address the needs, hopes, and dreams, of parents, young adults and “slightly older” adults. Led by the Vicar, Bill Murray, the class will teach, share, and build community around the Church. It will meet in Parish Hall during the 10:00 Sunday School hour.
