Diocesan Convention Chooses New Bishop-Elect. The Rev. Canon George Sumner was chosen bishop-elect of the Episcopal Diocese of Dallas on Saturday, May 16. Sumner, age 60, is currently the Principal of Wycliffe College in Toronto, Canada, and was one of four nominees on the ballot. Sumner’s election must be approved by a majority of consents from the bishops and standing committees of The Episcopal Church’s dioceses. If he receives the majority of consents, he will be consecrated as the 7th Bishop of the Diocese of Dallas on November 14. Get the Faith and Literature books at the Saint Michael Book Shop. The popular summer adult series, Faith and Literature, starts June 7 with Bob Dannals discussing “Homecoming in Scripture and Literature,” based on three books, The Return of the Prodigal Son, Longing for Home, and Searching for Home. Each book is available in the Saint Michael Book Shop, as well as all of the books to be covered by the clergy this summer.
