SAM I AM Sam Records was a small office from N.Y, that was created in late 1976 by SAM WEISS. It is an incredible small disco label that left us, disco standards (i.e GARY’S GANG). First release seems to have been the 1976 followed John Davis & the Monster Orchestra and their Top 5 single “Night and Day”.

DISCO STUDIO In the 1970s it became the legendary nightclub located at 254 West 54th Street in Manhattan. The club opened on April 26, 1977 and closed in March 1986. Since 1998, “Studio”, as it came to be called, was notorious for the hedonism that occurred within it; the balconies were known for sexual encounters, and drug use was rampant. Its dance floor was decorated with a depiction of a Man in the Moon that included an animated cocaine spoon.

MFSB MFSB-According to the book A House on Fire: the rise and fall of Philadelphia Soul, by John A. Jackson, the MFSB name means “Mother, Father, Sister, Brother”, because according to Kenny Gamble and Leon Huff, despite the diversity at Philadelphia International Records, all were connected musically. This was in line with their spiritual views at the time. However, Jackson has also stated that MFSB actually stood for “mother-fuckin’ sonof-a-bitch,” a complimentary expression (as in, “He plays like a mother-fuckin’ son-of-a-bitch”) used by many players in the studio. RADIO-ACTIVITY Radio-Activity is the fifth studio album by German electronic band Kraftwerk, released in October 1975. Unlike Kraftwerk’s later albums, which featured language-specific lyrics, only the titles differ between the English and German editions. DISCO 79 1979 was a pivotal year for Disco Music. The Disco Sucks Campaign began & Disco Music went under ground and fought to survive the negative back-lash. This T-shirt is a graphic homage to the Ali-Forman Heavyweight fight “RUMBLE IN THE JUNGLE” in Zaire Africa five years earlier.

THIS IS ACID Seminal Chicago House Music Label TRAX RECORDS may be best known for inventing the squelchy Acid House sound on tracks like “Dream Girl” and “Acid Tracks”. The label was notorious for pressing it’s 12” inch releases on low quality vinyl but that did not stop the sound from traveling around the world and creating a new Dance Music genre that is experiencing a bit of a resurgence over the last couple of years.

IN THE BUSH Musique was the studio project by Patrick Adams, best known for the song, “In the Bush”. It consisted of five singers, Christine Wiltshire, Angela Howell, Gina Taylor Pickens, Mary Seymour Williams and the ubiquitous unsung Disco Diva, Jocelyn Brown. Due to the controversial lyrics of “In the Bush”, many radio stations banned it when it was released during 1978 but it went on to become a Disco Cult Classic!

The Insane Coho Lips AntiDisco Army” replica Tee. Worn by Rock radio DJ Steve Dahl at the Famous “Disco Demolition Night”. On a warm summer night in July 1979, at Comiskey Park in Chicago, during which a crate filled with Disco records was blown up on the field. It was held during the twi-night doubleheader baseball game between the Chicago White Sox and the Detroit Tigers. During the climax of the event, Thouands of Rock & Heavy Metal fans lost it and surged onto the field, and a riot ensued. The event was the culmi- nation of a popular back- lash against disco music. This Design is more of a tongue-incheek piss take on an excellent design.
