SLTC Student awarded the 'Deakin Vice Chancellor's International Scholarship'.
Congratulations to our student Kisal Gunawardana on his success in securing the most prestigious global scholarship from Deakin University, Australia. The Deakin’s Vice Chancellor’s International Scholarship recognizes only the best of the best in academics and only few students qualify to attain this exclusive scholarship annually. We are proud that one of our very own students achieved this great honor.
Kisal, a past student of Ananda College, Colombo joined SLTC Research University after his GCE A/Levels in February 2020 to commence his Bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering. Focused, and passionate in his chosen field, he maintained good grades throughout his two years at university, and was an active member of numerous clubs and societies at SLTC.

This is what Kisal had to say “I applied for the Deakin’s Prestigious Vice Chancellor’s International Scholarship which was the highest and the best scholarship offered by Deakin University. Knowing that only less than a handful of Vice Chancellor Scholarships are offered annually, I was setting myself up and hoping for the best.
Until the day came when I received the wonderful news which me and my parents were dreaming of.
I owe a big thank you to my lecturers at SLTC for all your guidance and oneon-one discussions which really helped me to take further steps at each stage in my academic journey. I was keen on applying for foreign study opportunities to continue the remaining two years of my studies abroad.
SLTC being an academic partner university of a number of globally recognized universities, Deakin University-Australia caught my eye as Deakin university is ranked in the top 1% of universities worldwide. I started the application process through the Office of International Affairs & Research (OIAR), and they have been nothing but helpful for me to make this dream come true.
I believe the hard work and performing at my level best in academics as well as non-academics granted me the Deakin’s Prestigious Vice Chancellor’s International Scholarship “
We wish Kisal all the very best & success in his future endeavors.
