October is the month that would not be complete without our annual Halloween Masquerade Party on Friday, Oct. 29, starting at 4:30 p.m., in

JAG consisted of lawyers who defended service men accused of committing crimes and were courtmartialed. After the Korean War, Lewis stayed in the Air Force Reserves and eventually became a Major. Always interested in France, Lewis enrolled at the Sorbonne in Paris and studied French culture. After a year of French studies, then later opened his own practice. He became interested in International Law and decided to go back to grad school at Tufts University in Boston, getting a master’s degree D.C. Lewis worked for the State Department writing legal opinions interpreting the immigration act to see if aliens could get permanent resident visas. After three years, he left the State Department and became an Assistant Professor of Law at George Washington University. He was then promoted to full Professor. He taught for 34 years. Lewis retired as a Professor Emeritus of Law. While Lewis was have two daughters, Anne, a lawyer in NYC and Amy, a court appointed professional guardian living in Florida. He has three grandchildren: Robbie, a graduate of University of North Florida; Courtney, an honors graduate of the University of Michigan; and Justin who is now attending the University of Michigan. Audri and Lew moved to Jupiter, Fla. and bought a condo in Ocean Trail, a lovely home with beautiful views of the ocean. After Audri passed away, Lew decided to move to Mangrove, minutes from their Ocean Trail home, to enjoy some of the activities and the people who live here.
