Nicasio Tee -- Digital Pattern Preview

NICASIO

Just in time for those last gasps of summer — or the perpetually warm Septembers we seem to be so prone to here in the Bay Area — comes this airy confection of a knitted tee, filled with soothing stockinette and just enough of a cable detail to keep things interesting. The body pieces are knit sideways and seamed together before the short sleeves are picked up from the armholes and knit down, a construction that’s both straightforward and just a bit adventurous, and facilitates a flattering placement of the cable motif. As is often the case, yarn choice is the key variable here: knit it in an airy light fingering weight like Quince and Co.’s Piper for a drapey, delicate top, or use a heavier, more structured yarn like Quince’s Tern, YOTH’s Best Friend, Sincere Sheep’s Cormo Fingering for something with a little more substance. Simple rolled hems and neckline make for easy finishing, while the short sleeves and simple construction make this project quick to knit before the temperatures cool.
