5.TRAVELOPPORTUNITIESINIFMSA

Travelling to IFMSA events has been a major challenge for many over the years. It is obvious that we have been represented in meetings consecutively over this period, but the number of delegates cannot be compared to other countries in the subregion. The challenges ranging from lack of primary sponsorship from partners, high cost of flight tickets, to mention but a few.

There are so many opportunities within IFMSA that we can tap into as an NMO. The just concluded Africa Regional Meeting serve as an eye opener or a gateway to these opportunities. As the Treasurer, working closely with the rest of the executive, I will ensure the following:-

Organise online sessions to enlighten members about existing opportunities in the Federation (Travel Assistant Fund and Professor Erik Host Fund)

Provide members with assistance letters to raise funds in collaboration with president and secretary general. Advocate to national partners for travel assistant funds.
