BOOSTING ESL

EXPANDING ACCESS, CREATING OPPORTUNITIES

Our Mission:

In a context of political uncertainty, where many people face the fear of being deported and avoid leaving their homes, mastering English becomes an essential tool for overcoming those barriers and facing adversity. We are committed to providing access to the English as a Second Language (ESL) program to those outside SLCC, recognizing that knowledge of English not only opens doors but also provides a means of empowerment. Through this learning, we aim to create a safe space where individuals can develop both academically and professionally, overcoming fears and opening the path to new opportunities. English is not just a language, it is a key that opens doors to a safer and more promising future.

 Our Focus

Expand the reach of the ESL program, raising awareness and attracting people who need to improve their English.

Promote access to scholarships and financial support, ensuring that students do not face economic barriers to accessing the program.

Strengthen the connection between ESL and other institutional services, creating a support network that benefits both students and the community at large.

Collaborate with the Marketing Club, which will be responsible for promoting the ESL program, designing campaigns, utilizing social media, and organizing events to increase the program ' s visibility and attract more students.

Our Goal

We aim to increase access to the ESL program, ensuring that people outside of SLCC can attend English classes regardless of their economic or immigration status. By strengthening the program, we seek to connect students with scholarships and financial aid that allow them to study without barriers. Through this initiative, we will also promote the use of key services such as Bruin Pantry and the Center for Health & Counseling, which will generate greater demand and contribute to the creation of more student jobs and opportunities
