Notes from Mead Way
When we sat down as an admission office to meet the Class of 2024, I was once again in awe of the young people we were about to bring to campus. This class is full of students who know who they are and where they want to be—and we feel lucky that place is Sarah Lawrence College.

Our campus is brimming with creativity and intentionality— students here want to be in small classrooms where professors know them by their first names (you can call me Kevin, by the way), taking academic risks to discover untouched intellectual terrain in an open curriculum. They understand our campus truly is the best of both worlds—community driven and tree lined, yet just half an hour from Grand Central Station.
You might be familiar already with thick viewbooks that try to tell every possible story about a campus. Abstract isn’t about every story—it’s about sharing the stories of individuals that make this campus more than just a statistic or ranking. It’s my hope the words and images on these pages will help you picture yourself in Bronxville. What conversations and ideas will you have? What lasting relationships will you form with your peers and professors? How will you connect your passions to create your future?
I won’t try to answer those questions for you, but I hope the next 32 pages inspire questions you’ll spend the next four years pursuing. Abstract isn’t about every story—it’s about sharing the stories of some of the individuals that make this campus more than just a statistic or ranking.
Sincerely,
Kevin McKenna Dean of Admission and Financial Aid
