Final presentation and winner announcement
The Agentic AI for Energy Hackathon Norway 2026 showcases the agentic AI solutions to solve real-world energy challenges. Participants will design and develop prototype solutions for one of three key energy domains:
→ Production and reservoir
→ Drilling
→ Sustainability
Open-ended challenges
Teams will select a domain and work on a real world challenge that stretches their problem solving abilities, leveraging the Lumi platform.
Prototype development
Teams are required to create a working prototype or proof-of-concept that addresses their chosen challenge, focusing on practicality, scalability, and industry impact.
Expert guidance
Mentors and industry professionals will be available to provide guidance and insights, helping teams refine their ideas and approaches.
Online submission
Each team will submit their solutions and results via a dedicated submission form.
Judging criteria
Prototypes will be evaluated on innovation, technical feasibility, scalability, accuracy, sustainability, and their potential impact for the energy sector.
Production and reservoir
Agentic AI-driven diagnostic assistant for oil and gas production analysis
This project aims to leverage agentic AI to accelerate oil and gas production diagnostics, via a natural language interface tailored for engineers. By combining large language models (LLMs) with structured and unstructured data fusion, the end product enables rapid, reproducible diagnostics and anomaly detection.
Optimizing drilling operations with agentic AI
By automating the extraction of essential data from daily drilling reports, the project seeks to accelerate and improve drilling operation optimization. Leveraging LLMs, unstructured drilling reports are used to generate actionable insights and recommended action plans.
Agentic AI for carbon futures—smart carbon capture, utilization, and sequestration (CCUS) planning and storytelling
This project develops a system powered by LLM and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), that matches CCUS projects with optimal emission sources based on location, capacity, and status, contextualizing each opportunity for integration. Participants can also create a generative storytelling tool that narrates the project’s environmental and economic impact.
