YOUTH PD DAY CAMP Friday's on scheduled PD Days 8:00am-5:00pm | MRC Fieldhouse | $28 a day If you have a child ages 6-11 years old, sign them up for a fun filled day with us at the Multi-Rec Centre. We run on every PD day scheduled by HPSD. Check out the schedule below for all the fun we will be having this fall. Don't forget to bring a bagged lunch (NO microwaveable), snacks, a water bottle, and the proper clothes/equipment for the day. We have room for 20 kids in this camp. *For consecutive days the child must be registered in the day(s) before*

AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM Weekdays, October 14 to December 18 3:45-5:00pm | MRC Fieldhouse | $5 a day or $25 a Week We will be splitting the Fieldhouse into two parts for the After School Program.

The front half will be for children 6 to 11 yrs old and the back half will be for kids 12 to 18 yrs old. We have room for 10 kids on each side of the Fieldhouse. Don't forget to bring a snack, indoor shoes, and a labelled water bottle. We will be doing lots of different activities such as sports, crafts, and games!

BABY SIGN LANGUAGE WITH CERI NORBERG Thursdays, October 1 to October 29th 6:00-7:00pm | Multi- Purpose Room | $60 During this class, we'll be doing a brief introduction given in “Baby Sign," another form of American Sign Language (ASL), which is simplified making it easier to teach and communicate to your infant. ASL isn’t just used for deaf or hard of hearing individuals, but for hearing people as well. Parents are leaning towards baby sign or sign language to improve communication, increase parent-child bonding, decrease frustration and help their with child’s needs. Some words we will be going over will be: Please, thank you, milk, water, thirsty, hungry, water etc. We will also be touching on the ABC's, numbers, and other common words.

This class is for parents with babies with a max of 9 people.

STROLLER ROLLERS

Tuesdays, October 13 to November 24 10:30-11:30am | Fieldhouse| $15 Hey parents let's beat those winter blues by bringing your stroller to the MRC track for some socialization and a workout with your baby. This class is self-instructed and you are welcome to use the dumbbells, spin bikes and rowers on the track.

We will have someone help wipe off your stroller wheels and assist you in the elevator. Please bring your water bottle, indoor shoes, babies, and strollers.

HOME ALONE COURSE WITH SHARRON GREEN Saturday, October 17 or November 21 9-3pm | Multi Purpose Room | $40 This course is for kids 8 to 11 years old who are alone before or after school. You will learn about safety in the kitchen, internet safety, playing safe, dealing with siblings, and more! Parents must attend the first hour! Don't forget to bring a bagged lunch. We have room for 10 kids in this course.

BABYSITTING COURSE WITH SHARRON GREEN October 24 & 25 or December 5 & 6 9-4pm | Multi Purpose Room | $45 Learn the skills and knowledge to safely look after children placed in your care.

Topics covered include roles of the babysitter, caring for children, positive behaviour management, safety, injury prevention and much more. This course is for kids 12 to 18 years old and has a max of 10 people.Â

HALLOWEEN TODDLER CRAFT TIME WITH TAYLOR TONSI Thursday, October 29 10:00-11:00am | MRC Fieldhouse | $5 per kid Looking for ways to celebrate Halloween and Christmas with your toddler but don't want a mess at home? BREASTFEEDING COURSE WITH PAM HAHN Saturday, November 7 6:00-7:30pm | Multi- Purpose Room | $25 Stack the odds in your favour to breastfeed successfully. This course is for expectant moms +1 who plan to breastfeed their newborn. Course material will take you through the benefits for mom and baby, breast anatomy (there's more than meets the eye), understanding how and when your body will produce milk, potential challenges you'll face and how to prepare for or avoid those challenges, how to latch baby well, positioning, feeding cues, practical ways your partner can support you and still bond with baby, and more! Bring a notebook, prepare to laugh and ask questions. DRIVE IN MOVIES Friday & Saturday, September 25-26 TBD | Sunset Place| Food Donation Join the Town of Slave Lake at Sunset Place for a Drive In Movie Double Feature on Friday & Saturday Night. Movies will be Disney's Onward and I Still Believe on Friday evening and Disney's Hocus Pocus and The Addams Family on Saturday evening.

After the first movie all cars will be cleared from the area, if you wish to stay for the second movie you will have to line up again. Please bring a food donation for your entrance fee and check the Town of Slave Lake Facebook Page for more info.

PUBLIC SKATE Sundays, October 18 to December 20 6:00-7:00pm | Arena 2 | Free Grab your skates and your family and come out to our Public Skate.

This year is a little different as you will have to sign up before the skate.

You must keep a 3m distance between people not in your cohort. There is a max of 20 skaters each ice time. Don't miss out on the fun!

HALLOWEEN HOUSE DECORATING CONTEST Friday, October 30 The Town of Slave Lake is hosting a community decorating contest for all community members in town limits. We will be looking for the best decorated homes! The top 3 houses winners will be posted on our Facebook page "Town of Slave Lake: Recreation, Parks and Culture" where we will be asking residents to vote for "Best Overall". The "Best Overall" winner will receive a $100.00 gift card to a local restaurant! If you wish to participate please register by 12am Wednesday, October 28th.

FAMILY SNOWSHOE WITH THE BOREAL CENTRE Saturday, December 12 1:00-3:00pm | Northshore Day Use| $5 per person Come enjoy some winter fun with your family! The Lesser Slave Lake Bird Observatory will have snowshoes for people to use (the Slave Lake Rotary Club sponsored the snowshoes). We will have a fire started at Northshore Day Use for people to warm up and we have shoes for 15 people.Â

ADULT FITNESS PICKLEBALL LEAGUE WITH KEVIN CAMPBELL & DAVE LAFRANCE Monday's, October 5 to December 14 6:00-8:00 pm | MRC Fieldhouse | 10 Sessions- $60 Come out for our first ever Pickleball League! This is an excellent opportunity for players of all levels as we will have some coaching.

The first hour of every session you will be building your skills, learning the rules, and perfecting your technique with our coaches. The second hour you will be for putting your skills to the test to play a game (this last hour is optional if you need to leave early). This program is for ages 16+. We have room for 24 players in his league. No class October 12th, due to Thanksgiving.

INDOOR SOCCER LEAGUE Tuesday's & Thursday's, October 6 to December 17 7:00-9:00 pm | MRC Fieldhouse | 22 Sessions - $100 We have changed up Adult Soccer this year by changing it from a drop in to a League. POWER WALKING WITH DONNA MELVIN Wednesday's, October 7 to December 2 6:00-7:00 pm | MRC Fieldhouse | 8 Classes - $48 This one-hour, mild to moderate workout consists of a warm-up, cardio (power walk), cool down, resistance training, core/abdominal exercises, and concludes with relaxing stretches.This program is offered to men and women of all ages and fitness levels. So lace up your sneakers, wear comfortable clothing, bring a mat and WALK YOUR WAY TO FITNESS! This program is for ages 16+.
