Foreword Sotheby’s International Realty France – Monaco (and its humble owner) is not only about selling extraordinary estates – it’s about a certain way of life that values refinement and elegance in all things, big or small alike. The first ever “Sotheby’s International Realty France Rallye 2017 – Castles, Cars & Art de Vivre” thus showcased not only some of the most exceptional luxury properties on this planet, but also celebrated beautiful classic cars, excellent food, fine wines, charming hotels, handmade cigars and a healthy dose of timeless style and fashion. In the end, however, this unique adventure turned out to be about the most important thing of all: Friendship. The human bond created by the shared memories of our select group of “Sotheby’s International Realty France – brothers (and sisters) in arms” was, without any doubt, the most enjoyable and lasting result of this most memorable trip.

Chateau De La Croix Des Gardes The Château de la Croix des Gardes is undoubtedly one of most legendary estates on the French Riviera. Sitting in a landscaped, mature park of 10 hectares just a few minutes from the famous shopping-mile La Croisette, the beaches and the harbor, this legendary property has lent its name to one of the most soughtafter quarters of Cannes and is one of the last remaining substantial historic estates in the region. Built in 1919 by a Swiss gentleman, the estate was subsequently acquired by the proprietor of “Burma” jewelry before becoming the property of none other than the owner of “Perrier” mineral water. The Château de la Croix des Gardes was featured as “Villa Sanford” in Alfred Hitchcock’s 1955 classic movie, “To Catch A Thief”, starring Cary Grant and Grace Kelly, and played host to countless personalities over the years. It was remodeled in Neo-Palladian style in the 1970s by noted architects Alan Gore and André Svetchine. Offering more than 1.000 sq.m. of living space, uninterrupted views from sunrise to sunset and some of the largest preserved grounds of the entire Riviera, this estate represents truly a once-in-a-lifetime-opportunity.
