Saskatchewan Printmakers is a new volunteer-run notfor-profit that exists province-wide to provide print artists at any stage in their career exhibition and networking opportunities This member-based organization aims to connect artists working in print media across the province and country. Thank you for becoming a member and making our first year so successful!

“Growing Together” was inspired by the mycorrhizal networks of trees These complex systems of roots allow trees to share nutrients, and send one another signals Like a forest, artists depend on one another for resources, assistance, and encouragement Without our network of connections, we can’t learn, grow, or change as creatives I take great satisfaction in volunteering, helping others in the studio, giving feedback, and doing what I can to contribute to my artistic community. This print represents that feeling of joy and connectedness, and ties into this year’s Flatgrafika theme of community, collaboration, and unity

Lejo Liimatainen (they/he) is a fourth-year BFA honours student and artist originally from Lanigan, Saskatchewan Their artistic practice incorporates drawing, printmaking, and collage, and a fascination with organic shapes and playful use of colour. Art is calming and healing, and they often find themself getting lost in making intricate paper cut-outs, carving linoleum, or covering a whole page with intricate linework
