New UIHC Hospital
The state Board of Regents approved a $395 million plan for a new University of Iowa hospital in North Liberty. The building will have both a hospital and academic section to accommodate the increasing number of people in need of healthcare from university facilities.
The building will be built on 60 acres of land along Forevergreen Road in North Liberty and will encompass 469,000 square feet of space. The proposed budget for the project is $395 million, When open in summer 2025, the North Liberty facility will accommodate up to: 48 beds, 21 emergency care rooms, 16 operating rooms and two more procedure rooms, laboratories, a pharmacy, advanced diagnostic imaging, outpatient clinics, as well as teaching and research space to prepare the next generation of Iowa.
