Collection of 24-Hours Urine into Plain Container Patient Instructions 1. Eat and drink normally prior to the collection unless instructed otherwise by your physician.

2. Take 24-hour urine container from the Pathology Laboratory at our hospitals or any of our Laboratory Collection Centres across Pakistan.

3. At the start of the collection, completely empty your bladder and discard this urine.

4. This is the start time, record the start time on the label of the container.

5. During the next 24 hours, collect all urine passed into the container.

6. During collection, store the sample container in a cool place avoiding direct sunlight.

7. Exactly 24 hours after the starting time, empty bladder into the container. The collection is now complete.

8. Record the completion time on the label of the 24-hour container.

9. Please deliver the completed sample to the laboratory or collection center, as soon as possible.

10. Laboratory staff will check container labelling details such as patient identification and sample collection date/time. This is done to ensure safety for the reporting of your results.
