the 4th Grade Play

Hailey Ward The 4th grade play is after winter break at the Aspen District Theater and will be the first play since covid 19. This play was different from all the other plays in the Aspen Elementary School because it was filmed.

There are five classes in the play. There are six scenes in the play. The play is 52 minutes long. The play took about four months long to film and edit.

Charlie Forster is a senior at Aspen High School. He did lots of the filming and editing for the fourth grade play. He also did the play when he was in fourth grade, but it was in person. He also does all the film editing for the high school broadcast.

Forster wanted to help film the play because it was a new experience for him and he would learn from it with us.

who has been teaching 4th grade for over 20 years. He has been in the play every year.

“I really appreciate trying something new this year. Filming it during this time of the pandemic and trying something new was a great experience. We actually got to see how movies and TV shows are made and just it allowed us to produce the play and make it happen for the 4th graders,” White said.

Sunny Morehouse is a 4th grader at AES. She was in the first scene in the play as a camper. Morehouse likes doing the play live more than filming it.

“I like it more because you’re actually on the stage and not really watching yourself on the screen,” Morehouse said.

Morehouse is happy to be able to do one of her elementary school plays.

“I’m glad we did our 4th grade play because I feel like I missed a big part of 3rd and 2nd grade,” Morehouse said.

U12 Girls Hockey Brooklyn Kennedy Lewis and Avea Spears U12 Girls hockey is currently in season, and so far has been a blast! Sage fields and Chloe Diogaurdi are players on the U-12 team.

The U12 team as of now, has a winning streak of 20 games, and

an unfortunate loss of one game.

The captain of the team, Sage Fields, talks about her passion for hockey, “The thing that motivates me to play hockey is that my dad has always played and I wanted to carry it on.” Chloe Diogaurdi, another team captain said, “I joined hockey because my brothers have always played,” in response to why Diogardi began playing the sport.

The U12 team went to states on 25-27 of February, due to their large number of wins. Their biggest competitor in the states is Wyoming, which they lost 0-1.

This season has unfortunately come to an end, with the U-12 hockey team came 2nd place in states against Krivo.

What is it like to be in Elizabeth Ford’s shoes?

Ardin White, Emily Nitti, and Trinidad Palasz Elizabeth Ford is the AES school’s main cook. Do you know what it’s like to be in Elizabeth’s shoes? She works at the school almost every day. She makes more than 400 lunches for the school, so that everyone who needs a lunch gets it.

Being the main cook at AES is not an easy job. It takes lots of time to plan lunches for kids each week. Not only does her time go into preparation, but she also spends most of her time cooking. She is at the school from around 6:00 am to 3:45 pm every day. She needs all of this time to prepare and cook for the kids in

“I need to think of what I need for food to cook,” Ford said.

Elizabeth works so hard at making lunches for the school.

Jeff White, a 4th grade teacher, agrees.

“Elizabeth and the entire kitchen staff work so hard on the food, it’s unbelievable. I can’t imagine an elementary school having better food,” White said.

Elizabeth is also in charge of ordering the food to make a meal for the school. She gets the food for the school from Shamrock.

Shamrock delivers her food to school every week. The food from some of her business helps to make her favorite lunches.

Elizabeth’s favorite meal is a veggie soup. She loves making nachos for the school.

Carlie White People should celebrate differences, like hearing aids, glasses, wheelchairs,and disabilities, to create kindness and friendship.

In fact, I think that the schools should add some things to help people with differences like trays

that can be more easily carried and more ways to get to different places, like elevators or ramps.

Some more things that the school can change are more paras for kids, and more kindness towards teachers, parents, and kids with differences, and places in classrooms. Additionally, a cafeteria for people in wheelchairs ,and with disabilities.

AES students can help by acknowledging people with differences, and being more inclusive. I interviewed a girl named Ardin White who wanted to tell me about her microphone, which, if you put it on, helps her hear you more than without it. Ardin said ”It’s like a real microphone on your neck, and if you go outside I can hear everything you say.”
