Fish silage technology The Blue revolution continues. Blaastrom is our new system for sustainable fish silage. It is equipped with our powerful Ydra Terminator VRG 530 pump designed to make silage faster and more efficient. The capacity of the pump combined with double-edged stainless steel knives, turns huge amounts of biomass into particle free liquide faster than ever before.

Ydra has developed a solid system with a high degree of mobility making the most critical parts of the fish silage process automated. By using powerful grinder pumps that are equipped with sharp double-edged knives in high quality industrial grade stainless steel the silage system can grind large amounts of biomass fast and efficient into particle free liquid without pregrinding. The pumps are market leaders in terms of capacity. With huge ambitions for Blaastrom, Ydra will continue to develop technology and automation further. Blaastrom can be equipped with different pumps depending on your needs. The Terminator pump, in addition to our K-serie, have for years been market leaders in their category and will play an important in the Blaastrom product range. Controll systems, tanks, control valves and automatic dosage of acids are being developed within the product range.
Blaastrom makes silage faster and more efficient, so that resources from the ocean can be reused. By increasing reuse, we contribute to better communities and companies in and around the ocean space increase the value of their products. Increasing efficiency of the silage process will contribute to more efficient processes in fish farms and fish companies. An important advantage of the Blaastrom system is the automated acid dosage. Common practice is to do this manually with great risks of accidents. From a safety perspective automation is a far better solution. Wrong dosage will deteriorate quality and using too much acid might put a strain on the equipment. From a sustainability perspective there are several reasons for companies to invest in a Blaastrom system. By turning waste into value in short time the system contributes to the circular economy in and around the ocean space. It reduces waste and increases the value of bi-products. The system improves safety for employees as more process are automated.

Silage and grinder pumps Ydras, in house designed and produced, silage grinder pumps are market leading for efficient grinding of fish. 1 ton of biomass will be turned in to particle free liquid in less then one hour and are then ready to be pumped to process/storage tanks. Ydra have silage pumps that can handle full size white fish without any form of pre-grinding being necessary.

Terminator VRG 530 is a new, highly efficient grinder pump for salmon and whitefish. The Terminators knife system together with the pumps capacity makes it the most efficient silage/grinder system on the market.
Model K is a powerful grinder pump that is most suitable for smolt and salmon without pre grinding. The impeller is equipped with knifes to efficiently create a high quality silage.

Eccentric screw pumps

Our progressive cavity pumps have been designed for easy, low maintenance. Wear parts can easily be replaced on the site. Eccentric screw pumps are heavy duty pumps and they can be used to pump abrasives sludges, viscous products, oils, emulsions. Due to the steady non turbulent flow they can also handle shear sensitive products and medium with solids content without breaking up the solids. Available with both electric and hydraulic motor. Multi screw pumps belong to the group of self-priming, valve-less rotating positive displacement pumps. Due to their design they are specially suitable for lubricating media. Although they are compact in design they can reach high flow rates and high pressure. Some designs are even suitable for non-lubricating or solid loaden fluids. Rotary lobe pumps

Parts, repair and maintenance for every kind of pump. Normally we have every part in our warehouse. If not, our fully equipped workshop can supply parts on short notice. You’ll never have to wait weeks for replacement parts. We have a fully stocked replacement parts warehouse. If the part you need is not immediately available, we craft parts and accessories in-house. When sending pumps and equipment to our workshop is inconvenient, we offer on-site services. A team of technicians will service your pumps on-site to the same high standard as we insist on at our workshop.

Drivers and starters
The drivers provide optimized motor control for both induction and permanent magnet motors, gearless drive applications and parallelling solutions for high power motors. Fast fieldbus options and exceptional programming flexibility ensure the drives are easily integrated into any plant’s automation system. Engineering time and costs can be saved due to the high number of standardized options and reduced system complexity.
Compensators
Whenever thermal or mechanical alterations can’t be absorbed in a pipe system, compensators are ideal to compensate for these changes. Ydra provides a wide range of compensators in various materials.

Sustaining life
Grieg Seafood’s facility in Erfjord is the birthplace of one fifth of all farmed salmon in Norway. Pumps from Ydra provide the broodstock with all the oxygen, cooling, waste management and circulation they need.
Waterborne feeding
Seawater fish farming is energy intensive, but Akva Group has found a way to drastically reduce energy consumption. By switching from airborne feeding to waterborne feeding from a feeding barge, the system cuts energy use by around 70% while tripling capacity, and pumps from Ydra make it happen.
