Composer Derek Bermel discusses his new work, Encounter with the Moon, premiered by Tai Murray, Xavier Foley, and Rebecca Carr. Murray and Foley join Masumi Per Rostad, Julia Bruskin, and Aaron Wunsch for Vaughan Williams’ Piano Quintet. The Danish String Quartet introduces Nordic folk music, and Robinson Pavilion concerts begin with the Joshua Redman Quartet. Guitarist Eliot Fisk performs with Zaira Meneses and Raquel Fisk; he solos in his arrangement of Bach’s Cello Suite. The Knights perform Bernstein’s Candide at Robinson Pavilion.
