In her first year as artistic director, Diane Walsh debuts opening night with Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 4, Grant Cooper conducting. She also performs chamber works by Haydn, Harbison, and Strauss. Violinist Ilya Kaler presents a program of Dvořák, Martinů, Smetana, and Janáček, the latter with Walsh. Peggy Pearson premieres Yehudi Wyner’s Quartet for Oboe and String Trio. Hilary Hahn and Garrick Ohlsson present sonatas by Brahms, Bach, and Haydn. Baritone Sanford Sylvan performs Brahms songs with Walsh and, in the finale, Mozart arias conducted by Peter Bay. Walsh also collaborates with Broadway’s Bill Irwin.
