Chamber Music America presents its Distinguished Service Award to David and Louise Robinson. Robert Weirich leads an all-Mozart opening, soloing in Piano Concerto No. 27. Pianist Andrew Russo debuts with the Arcadian Trio in a program featuring Mendelssohn’s Trio No. 1. Joseph Thalken conducts two of his Festival-commissioned works for narrator and chamber orchestra: Fritz the Magic Fiddler and The Magic Bonbons. Two compositions by Weirich are also performed: The Visitant with violist Melissa Micciche, and Steamboat Stomp with hornist William Ver Meulen. Hilary Hahn performs Bach’s Partita No. 1, Milstein’s Paganinium, and Mozart’s Violin Concerto No. 5 with conductor Peter Bay. She joins ensembles for Mozart’s Eine Kleine Nachtmusik, Beethoven’s Kreutzer Sonata with Weirich, and Dvořák’s String Quintet.
