Naung Mai Thai Kitchen: A Taste of Home and Heart in Anacortes

Naung Mai Thai Kitchen is more than just a restaurant—it’s a dream born from deep Thai cultural roots and a heartfelt mission to care for family near and far. Inspired by a lifelong tradition of supporting loved ones, the owner brought a piece of home from Thailand to NAS Whidbey Island, creating a warm, welcoming space to serve the community while supporting her family back home.

What sets Naung Mai Thai Kitchen apart is its dedication to fresh, customizable meals. Every dish is made from scratch using a vibrant

variety of vegetables, allowing for dietary adjustments like glutenfree or low-carb options. Open communication is encouraged to ensure every meal is just right—because they believe food made with care brings people together.

From the start, the Anacortes community, including City Hall and the Fire Marshal, embraced the restaurant with open arms. Honest feedback from customers has helped them grow stronger, and the team sees every comment as a gift.

Naung Mai isn’t just a business—it’s a family. There are no “bosses” or

“employees” here. The team

“employees” here. The team supports each other with kindness, even integrating tech like serving robots to ease the workload. Their annual holiday party includes everyone’s loved ones, highlighting their belief in community and connection. Being ranked in Anacortes’ top three

restaurants is a proud milestone—one that reflects their dedication and inspires them to continue giving back to the place they now call home.

Lopez Island Creamery: Scooping Up Sweet Success in Anacortes

Inspired by his stepfather’s dedication to a small custom home building company, the owner of Lopez Island Creamery always dreamed of running a business built on passion and purpose. After years in various jobs, that dream came to life when he discovered Lopez Island Creamery for sale. A visit to Anacortes and a crash course in ice cream later, he took the leap— purchasing the business just two weeks before his wedding.

What makes Lopez

Island Creamery stand out isn’t just the product—it’s the people. From skilled ice cream makers and pasteurizers to dedicated delivery drivers and warehouse staff, the team is what transforms each batch into something truly special. Consistently creating great ice cream at a fair price is no small feat, but they’ve built a reputation for doing just that.

The Anacortes community has played a pivotal role in their success. Local support from individuals and

businesses alike has helped the Creamery grow, and the gratitude runs deep. “We wouldn’t be here without the people of Anacortes,” the owner says.

A point of pride is that every scoop is made right in Anacortes—a fact that inspired the opening of their factory store. It’s not just about selling ice cream; it’s about showcasing the magic behind it.

is a sweet reward. “It’s like sprinkles on the ice cream,” he says, a testament to the mutual appreciation between Lopez Island Creamery and the community it calls home.

Why We Chose Anacortes for Our Cannabis Dispensary-Western Bud

Our journey into the cannabis industry was inspired by a genuine belief in the plant’s healing potential. Many of us have seen firsthand how cannabis can ease chronic pain, reduce anxiety, and improve overall wellness. Those personal experiences lit a fire in us to create a space where others could safely access these benefits.

What truly sets our dispensary apart is our focus on quality and sustainability. We proudly partner with local growers who use organic practices, meaning no harmful pesticides or chemicals—just clean, effective cannabis. It’s our

way of supporting both personal health and our community’s environmental values.

Speaking of community, Anacortes has been incredible. This town is more than just a location—it’s a family. From the start, we’ve had the privilege of engaging with locals who care deeply about wellness, education, and safe access to cannabis. Their support and input have helped shape our offerings and mission.

One thing we wish more people knew? We offer price matching! If a customer finds the same product at a lower price from another licensed dispensary, we’ll match it— because we believe wellness

should be accessible and fairly priced.

Being named a Top 3 Dispensary in the Best of Anacortes is an honor we don’t

take lightly. It reflects the trust and loyalty of our customers and confirms that we’re truly making a positive impact. We’re proud to be a part of this amazing

Jeweler continues three generations of tradition in Anacortes

Burton Jewelers has had a wonderful tradition of fine jewelry and gifts in Anacortes for over 95 years. They specialize in custom jewelry design, drawing from their extensive collection of diamonds and colored gems. They feature expert jewelry repair and restoration with their goldsmith in-house or through a vast network of high-quality workshops. In addition, the store offers in-house jewelry appraisals for insurance purposes, estate, and fair market value. The store features fine diamonds, white and fancy natural colors, and an extensive selection of fascinating colored gemstones. They have an immense selection of engagement rings, birthstone jewelry, earrings, and pendants. Additionally, they have a vast selection of fine tableware, barware, and art glass. Inside the store is the Burton fine art gallery, with rotating shows of local artists.

The store was founded on March 1, 1930, by Phil D. Burton and carried forward by his son Doug Burton and daughter-in-law Laura (Salmon) Burton. Today the legacy continues even stronger with 3rd generation Philip G. Burton and his wife, Holly (Roskelley) Burton.

Philip Burton took gemological training in the late 80s, gem cutting in Germany in 1991, and achieved his title of Registered Jeweler of the

American Gem Society in 2003. Only 5% of finer independent jewelers are members of the AGS, and Philip takes continuing education and testing annually to

retain the title. In addition, AGS members sign a code of ethics pledge yearly to uphold honesty and transparency in the industry for consumer protection.

At Salish General Contracting, our story begins with a shared love for Anacortes—a town defined by its natural beauty, close-knit community, and strong appreciation for craftsmanship. As coowners, we were inspired to launch our business here not only because it felt like home, but because we saw an opportunity to build something lasting. We wanted to create more than just structures; we wanted to create a company grounded in integrity, quality, and service. For us, every project is a chance to give back to the community that has supported us so generously. What truly sets Salish General Contracting apart is our hands-on, personalized approach. We’re involved in every step of the process—from the very first consultation to the final walkthrough. We believe that transparency and clear communication are just as important as craftsmanship. Whether we’re constructing a custom home or managing a small

remodel, we tailor each project to reflect our clients’ unique visions and needs.

The support we’ve received from the Anacortes community has played a huge role in our growth. We’ve been fortunate to work with clients who value quality and take pride in their homes. Word-of-mouth referrals have been one of the biggest drivers of our business—a true testament to the strength of this town and the trust we’ve built. Local suppliers, subcontractors, and fellow small business owners have also stepped in to help us navigate challenges and grow stronger as a team. That spirit of collaboration is something we cherish, and we work hard to return that trust in every job we take on.

At its core, Salish General Contracting is about more than just construction. It’s about creating spaces that reflect the people who live in them. We take the time to listen, to understand what matters most to our clients, and to bring that vision to life with care and precision. We’re proud to call Anacortes home, and even prouder to be building a legacy here—one project, one relationship, and one home at a time.

Natural Way Chiropractic: Healing with Heart in Anacortes

Natural Way

Chiropractic was drawn to Anacortes not only by its breathtaking scenery but also by the vibrant, growing community. From the start, the team knew they wanted to be a part of something special—where they could make a difference in people’s lives by addressing their healthcare needs and helping them achieve lasting wellness.

What sets Natural Way apart is its cutting-edge technology, which allows doctors to pinpoint the exact source of a patient’s pain. By utilizing advanced diagnostic techniques,

they’re able to develop precise, effective treatment plans that lead to real results. This approach ensures that healing starts at the root of the problem—not just the symptoms.

The Anacortes community has played a vital role in the clinic’s growth. Active involvement with the Chamber of Commerce and other local organizations has opened doors to meaningful connections and strengthened ties with fellow businesses and residents. Giving back to the community isn’t just a goal— it’s part of Natural Way’s core values.

One aspect many people

may not know is that Natural Way is employeeowned. This unique model fosters a culture of trust, excellence, and shared purpose—further setting them apart in the chiropractic world.

Being recognized as one of the Top 3 in the Best of Anacortes is a true honor. It’s a sign that the community not only values their work but also trusts them to deliver exceptional care.

Natural Way Chiropractic is proud to serve Anacortes— and they’re just getting started.

Caring for Smiles in the Heart of Anacortes- Sound Dentistry

For Drs. Kari and Nick Wilson, opening their dental practice in Anacortes was more than a career move—it was a return home. Dr. Kari spent her childhood summers here while her father served as director of Walla Walla University’s Rosario Beach Marine Station. Years later, she and Dr. Nick met while completing their

master’s degrees in Biology at that same station. Their connection to this special place made it the only choice when deciding where to live and serve their community. What sets their practice apart is the level of care and education provided to each patient. Visitors often say they’ve never had such a thorough exam or learned so much about their oral health.

The team’s mission is simple: to provide exceptional dental care that helps patients keep their teeth healthy for life. More than just general dentistry, their services reflect a deep commitment to whole-body wellness. Each doctor has advanced training in areas like dental implants, early orthodontic development, myofunctional therapy, and sleep-

disordered breathing in both children and adults.

Being named one of the Top 3 for Best of Anacortes is a meaningful honor for the team. “We are so grateful to be recognized by this community that we love,” says Dr. Kari. “It’s a privilege to care for our neighbors.”

Anacortes Health & Aesthetics: Personalized Care, Rooted in Science and Compassion

Anacortes Health & Aesthetics opened its doors in January 2025 with a mission to provide innovative, transparent care built on trust, continuing education, and a commitment to patient safety. Our goal is to combine advanced medical knowledge with personalized service, creating a space where people feel informed, empowered, and confident in the treatments and care they receive.

The Anacortes community has been incredibly supportive. We’ve been lifted by referrals, kind words, and shared stories. Many have trusted us with their care, and fellow small business owners have

offered encouragement and collaboration that’s been truly invaluable.

Many still think of us as just a med spa or weight loss clinic, but we’re so much more—we’re a place for transformation. Whether you’re navigating menopause, feeling stuck in your health goals, or just wanting to look and feel like yourself again, we offer solutions that are safe, effective, and tailored to you.
