Cascadia Eye: locally-owned and operated full-service eye care
What makes your company unique? We are the only locally owned and operated, fully comprehensive eye clinic in Stanwood, offering both ophthalmology and optometry to beautiful Stanwood and Camano Island. We also carry local eyewear company, Cascadia Eyewear, which our CEO founded to combat the high prices you find with international brands (although we do carry popular brands as well.)
What is the history of the company? When was it founded, and by
whom? Cascadia Eye was founded in 1985 by ophthalmologist Nannette Crowell, MD, with the vision to not only serve her neighbors with eye care, but as a partner in the community as a whole. Sheri Saldivar, her first employee, still oversees Cascadia Eye as CEO and continues to further this purpose today. We opened the Stanwood clinic in 2009 next to QFC and in 2021 moved to our current location next to Rite Aid.
What is the company’s mission statement? What are its core values? We exist to improve and protect the vision of
our patients… and then some. Cascadia Eye is proud to be one of the last independently and locally-owned and operated full-service eye care facilities in our part of the state. Our independence enables us to put patients first without having to consider large corporate interests.
We are also passionate giving back to our community and use our skills and talents to assist our neighbors, supporting many programs close to home. For example, every year we support local students with our “Excellence in Education”
scholarship, awarding local $1,500 scholarships for high school students looking to enter higher education. Cascadia Eye also cares about our international family. Eyewitness Missions, a nonprofit organization that several of our doctors created and participate in, provides vision care around the world for those affected by cataracts who do not have access to care.
