Cruise Skagen visitors Welcome to The Grey Lighthouse and Skagen Bird Station. The Grey Lighthouse offers you various experience. You can learn about the history of The Grey Lighthouse and climb the stairs to the top for a magnificent view around the tip of Denmark. The lighthouse opened in 1858 after a construction that lasted for 4 years. Every day since the opening, it has been used as a guide for the fishermen and people of the Sea. The Grey Lighthouse also offers modern interpretation; guided tours and hands on experiences to learn about nature and the amazing stories of why, how and when the birds are migrating.
Skagen Birdstation Skagen Bird Station is run by the Danish Ornithological Association, as an all-year bird station. Here, birds are being ringed and observed and sightings and ringing are recorded for research purposes. You will often be able to participate in the ringing and we offer several guided tours. You can follow the Skagen Birding Station´s observations on the website: www.skagenfuglestation.dk – and you can read the blog, which is often written in English.
The café is open during opening hours. The summer café offers you lunch, drinks, coffee, icecream, cakes and chocolate. The winter café offers you coffee, drinks and cakes.

Cruise Skagen visitors Guided tours: Tour – Short nature guided tour – 1½ hours around The Grenen area. The day and the weather determine where to go and what to see. We will start at The Grey Lighthouse and walk out along the trails at the Grenen area. The guide will tell you about the birds you can experience, about the flowers and the trees that are special for this area. Remember good shoes for walking. You can borrow binocular. Remember also to bring cameras for taking pictures. Price: d.kr. 65,00 at a min. of 12 persons.

Tour - Ringing The Birds - 1½ hours – this requires very good boots or very good shoes. The tour can be cancelled, if the weather is not right. The guides from The Birdstation will take you out in the area and show you how they are catching and ringing the birds. They will tell you about the birds and in what condition they are. How can you see if it is a male og female? Price per person: d.kr. 65,00 – (min. 12 persons – and max. 20 persons) The max. is because of the birds and the surroundings.
