HELPI HANDS F T H E

“What does love look like? It has the hands to help others. It has the feet to hasten to the poor and needy. It has eyes to see misery and want.”

AUGUSTINE OF

FROM THE HEADTEACHER

This school year, St Augustine’s is celebrating 60 years of excellent Catholic education here in Fulham

During this time our school community has helped to support our school environment and buildings ensuring that St Augustine’s continues to be the wonderful Catholic school we all know and love. Last year your donations to our Helping Hands Fund helped fund an essential renovation of our school, in previous years we installed a new floor in the hall, redeveloped our prayer gardens and created a new quiet area.

Without this generosity we would not have the wonderful school we have today.

I hope that we can count on your support once again and that after reading this booklet you will make either a one-off donation or a regular monthly gift to the Helping Hands Fund and join us in supporting our Giving Day on 28 February 2025. We are aiming to raise £5,000 to provide our school with class iPads as well as the protective cases and charging equipment needed to go with them.

YOUR SUPPORT

St Augustine heard the command ‘Tolle lege, tolle lege’ as an instruction to deepen his Catholic faith and this led him on his path to sainthood.

In the spirit of our school motto, we want to do the same for our pupils, providing them with an excellent Catholic education that allows them to grow in an academic, spiritual and emotional way Fundraising will support this with the provision of class iPads

To do this we need your fundraising support to help us bridge the gap in government funding.

That is why your donations to the Helping Hands Fund are so important.

So, when Augustine heard the command, “Tolle lege, tolle lege,” (Take up and read, take up and read), he heard it as God’s word to him. Augustine opened the Bible and his eyes fell on Romans 13:13–14 (ESV): “Let us walk properly as in the daytime, ... not in quarreling and jealousy. But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to gratify its desires.”
