SUMMER CLASSES DANCE

MINI GYM STARS

A great beginner gymnastic class teaching basic gymnastic skills, including movement exploration, balance, and coordination, at the same time teaching agility and improving motor skills Parents are allowed to stay for the first 10 minutes on the first day of class and are encouraged to attend the last class for a great recital.

A great beginner class teaching basic skills, including a fun be dance class where students will learn Ballet warm-ups, Jazz/ Hip Hop dance and Tap steps. Using our progression curriculum, we focus on the whole player-teaching sportsmanship and teamwork Boys and girls will learn the fundamentals of passing, shooting, ball handling, rebounding and defense. Participants should bring a water bottle and wear appropriate clothing and shoes

SUMMER CLASSES THERAPEUTICS

Group Arts

This program is geared towards groups of people with disabilities. Join us for seasonal arts and crafts. This program is designed to improve fine motor skills, boost creativity and social skills. Participants will be guided through seasonal art projects and specialty crafts Organization's staff must accompany clients in a 4 to 1 ratio This class is not designed for individuals without staff/attendant.

Simply Cooking

This introductory course for individuals with disabilities Class includes lecture, observation, and hands on preparation. Participants will receive instructional materials to take home. Menus will include breakfast, lunch, dinners, and desserts Class is conducted in a teaching kitchen which utilizes gas burners.

Participants must be able to function in a 1:4 staff to participant ratio independently or must provide an attendant for personal care.

Wheelchair Basketball Competitive

Looking to take Wheelchair basketball to the next level? Join our competition class, this is for individuals looking for more of a challenge and are looking to be apart of the competitive team No sports chair, no problem; we have extra sports chairs available on a first come first serve basis. Tournament opportunities are available for big gamers. Don't miss out! Participants must be able to function in a 1:10 staff to participant ratio, and independent with personal care needs

Wheelchair Pickleball

New to Bascom, we are now offering wheelchair pickleball. Wheelchair pickleball provides an opportunity for individuals with mobility impairments to enjoy the benefits of physical activity, social interaction, and competitive play. Anyone is welcomed to try regardless if you know how to play or not. We have chairs you can use on a first come first basis.

Jessica has been a member of the Parks, Recreation, and Neighborhood Services team for almost five years. During this time, she has had the opportunity to take on various roles, including positions in Preschool, Afterschool Programs, front desk operations, and as a Leisure Specialist She is currently serving as a Rental Coordinator.

Joshua has been a recreation leader for two years. He has played an active role in our youth programs, fostering a positive environment. He began his journey with our summer camps and is currently working at our Teen Center.

Lola has been a valuable member of the Parks, Recreation, and Neighborhood Services team for three years. She has played a crucial role in ensuring our community centers operate smoothly In the past, she worked at our summer camps and is currently working at the front desk! In her spare time, Lola enjoys playing power soccer.
