SCHOLARSHIPS CITYWIDE SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM ENSURES THAT QUALIFYING SAN JOSÉ RESIDENTS WILL HAVE ACCESS TO PARTICIPATION IN DEPARTMENT PROGRAMS, CLASSES, AND ACTIVITIES. Scholarships are available for families and individuals who meet the qualifications.

Families must apply in person at a community center during regular operating hours.

Scholarships can be used at any program location and at all three of the City of San José Municipal Golf Courses (Los Lagos, Rancho del Pueblo, and San José Municipal).

Come join the fun! Students will have fun learning Ballet positions, warm-ups, and tap steps. Correct technique and terms will be taught. Students will learn a dance routine to perform for family and friends. Parents are allowed to stay for the first 10 minutes on the first day of class for announcements.

MINI GYM STARS

Be a gymnastic star! Learn cartwheels, handstands, rolls, round offs, and much, much more! Parents are allowed to stay for the first 10 minutes on the first day of class and encouraged to attend the last class for a great recital. Please wear a leotard, stretch pants, sweatpants, or shorts. Bare feet during class is suggested. Children should secure long hair back in a pony tail.

A great beginner gymnastic class teaching basic gymnastic skills, including movement exploration, balance, and coordination, and at the same time teaching agility and improving motor skills. SKYHAWKS BASKETBALL

SKYHAWKS VOLLEYBALL

This fun, skill-intensive program is designed for beginning to intermediate players. Using our progressional curriculum, we focus on the whole player - teaching sportsmanship and teamwork. Boys and girls will learn the fundamentals of passing, shooting, ball handling, rebounding and defense.

Participants should bring a water bottle and wear appropriate clothing and shoes.

Skyhawks Volleyball takes the energy and excitement of this great team sport and puts it all together into one fun-filled program. All aspects of the game are taught through drills and exercises that focus on bumping, setting, spiking, hitting, and serving. This class is designed for the beginning to intermediate player. Participants should wear appropriate clothing and gym shoes.

ENHANCE FITNESS- SESSION 1 & 2 (THURS.)

It is never too late to learn Chinese Folk Dance. This group is led by an experienced volunteer Chinese Folk dance instructor. You will learn various Chinese Folk Dances and have the opportunity to perform in community center events. Anyone can join no experience needed. A fun dance experience while learning a bit of Chinese culture and making friends.

SUMMER CAMPS CAMP SAN JOSE @ SEVEN TREES

CAMP SAN JOSE JR.

At Camp San José, your child will enjoy an unforgettable camp experience that combines camp traditions with enriching, educational activities. The campers will participate in games and sports, create engaging arts and crafts projects, and sing fun songs. Price includes a low leader-to-child ratio of 1:10, skill-building, new friendships, learning projects, and more! *Families opting not to participate in field trips are responsible for finding alternative care for their child(ren) not attending the trip. The City will not provide a prorated refund for those who elect not to participate, nor will on-site care be available. Campers need to bring water, lunch* and sunscreen each day. *Check with your local community center for a complete list of field trips, lunch programs, scholarships, and payment plans. Each Camp San Jose session runs for 1 week.

At Camp San José Jr., your child will participate in an unforgettable summer camp! We combine camp traditions with a wide variety of enrichment and educational activities. Children will have the opportunity to create engaging art projects, play games, and sing fun songs. Camp includes skill-building, new friendships, and much more! A little bit of everything! Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Hip-Hop, Gymnastics, Cheer, Singing, and Hawaiian are all taught in the great half-day camp. Participants are placed in age-appropriate classes. Please bring a snack and water bottle. Great recital for parents on Friday

Join us this summer at San José Family Camp at Yosemite Family Camp at Yosemite is an all-inclusive camp where you can fish, hike, swim, take part in organized programs, and relax. Camp is open to anyone who loves camping. Camp is along the Tuolumne River, near Yosemite National Park, east of Groveland, California. STAFF SPOTLIGHT! DAMARIS GONZALEZ RECREATION LEADER Damaris Gonzalez has been a Recreation Leader with the City of San Jose-PRNS for almost 13 years.

She has been a valuable part of our Seven Trees family, working on various programs such as Rentals, Fitness, Preschool, Emergency Shelters, and Senior Nutrition. She is now one of the public faces of our center, working Reception at the Front Desk. Damaris does a phenomenal job helping anyone who comes to our center, especially those who need English/Spanish translation. She is highly knowledgeable and makes all of our Seven Trees visitors feel welcomed.

KIM ROSS RECREATION SPECIALIST Kim Ross has worked for Parks and Recreation for 22 years. She has worked at several different centers, including Olinder, Southside, Edenvale, and Seven Trees, where she oversees our Youth and Teen programs and a variety of community events. Kim has a wealth of knowledge about City programs and always works hard to ensure the Seven Trees community has equity and access to all the great programs the City of San José offers.

ADRIAN PRADO FERNANDEZ RECREATION LEADER Adrian Prado Fernandez has been a part of the Seven Trees Community Center family as a Recreation Leader for almost 4 years. He has worked for a variety of different programs at the center, including Teen Center, Summer Camp, and Fitness. He has been a coach of our Teen Futsal League and has worked several Viva Calle Events for the City. Adrian always has a smile on his face and has a great way of making all of our teen center participants feel welcome and included.
