Tap/Ballet (CLAP ARTS)

Beginning Guitar

This tap/ballet class introduces children to the basics of both ballet and tap, combining creative movement, grace and balance. Students learn basic tap steps such as shuffles, rhythm exercises, and springs, and elementary ballet including plies, tendus, passes, and the basic ballet positions. Wear dance attire and bring tap and ballet shoes. Parents may stay for first 10 min of first class and are invited back at the end of program for a class demonstration. Suggested Attire: Comfortable clothes or leotards, tights and tutus. Students may dance barefoot or wear ballet shoes. (Students cannot dance in socks/tights, must be barefoot or in ballet shoes)

Carlos Santana, Jimi Hendrix and Eddie Van Halen all started here, at the beginning. In Guitar Beginner, the primary focus is learning the basics of guitar. Material covered will include, reading chord diagrams, chord charts, and playing scales and melodies. Come aspire to greatness with us!

HIP HOP (CLAP ARTS) High-energy dance classes provide hours of fun while improving coordination, stamina and overall fitness. Dance steps are introduced in easy to understand language. Intermediate Guitar Whether you’re aspiring to be the next Carlos Santana or Jimi Hendrix, come and progress and aspire to greatness with this Guitar- Intermediate class. Piano Discover the keys to your child’s future success. Studies show that children who are introduced to music have an IQ jump of 3 points in the first six months! Learning to play the piano is a great way to introduce a child to this world. Class starts with basic piano skills and music reading. All Access-Therapeutics Playcamp This camp is designed for children with disabilities who need a higher level of staff assistance for participation including those with Autism Spectrum disorder. Activities will include arts and crafts, games, circle time, and possibly a field trip. The goals of this program include: increased leisure skills, improved fine motor skills, decreased isolation, and community/friendship building. Children should bring a sack lunch to camp each day. Participants must be able to function in a 1:3 staff to child ratio and be independent with personal care needs or bring an attendant with them. Attendants will need to fingerprinted by the City of San Jose. (This camp is located at Roosevelt Community Center).

Brief overview All Access Sports and Recreation (AASR) provides a wide range of programs for individuals of all ages with all ability levels, including those with ambulatory and cognitive disabilities Inclusion services are available for people with disabilities wishing to participate in recreation, preschool and after-school programs in the City of San JosĂŠ.We welcome people of all abilities to participate in our programs! If you or your child has a disability, behavior concern, severe allergy, or other condition requiring accommodation, please let us know at the time of registration. Inclusion: Inclusion describes an approach wherein participants with special needs spend most or all of their time with non-disabled students. Adapted Digital Arts Camp @ Seven Trees Join our introductory multimedia camp for teens and young adults with disabilities! You'll work on projects in music production, video editing, graphic design, and photography. Material costs and snacks will be covered. Digital Arts Program Film Camp

Brief overview The City of San Jose-Digital Arts Program provides hands on opportunities for middle school and high school aged youth, to explore their creativity and self-expression. Youth engage in activities such as song-writing, beat production, music recording and editing, playing instruments, audio engineering, art, photography, film and more.

Do you love to watch movies, and music videos? Well this camp is for you! Participants in this camp will be exposed to several aspects of professional film and photography through hands on learning. Explore recording, editing and exporting videos, as well as the creative pre-production process of creating story boards! Participants will have the opportunity to creative a short film and showcase their project at the end of camp. This camp will be held at Roosevelt Community Center Digital Arts Studio. Course#

Music Studio Camp

Beat Camp Move to the beat of your own drum! Participants will have a chance to use industry standard software and equipment to create their own musical beats, in this interactive camp. Learn the basics of drum programming, looping, sequencing, and sample chopping in a fun, hands on environment! This camp will be held in the Seven Trees Digital Arts Studio.

Music is intertwined in all facets of life, including, radio, tv, film and more In this intensive week-long camp, participants will get a chance to get creative and receive hands on experience working with industry professionals, in a state of the art recording studio. Students will learn about Music Production, Editing, Mixing, Studio Etiquette, and more! Camp will be held at Reynold’s Circle studio, located at 458 Reynold's Circle, San Jose, 95112. SUMMER CAMPS Spy Academy (MAD SCIENCE)

Digital Computer Animation (FRESHI)

Look out 007– the Mad Science Spy Academy is here! From decoding messages to metal detectors and night vision, camper have the opportunity to check out spy tech equipment and take home lots of gadgets like a UV Fingerprint Finder! Step into the shoes of a detective as you uncover the science involved in evidence gathering and analysis! Figure out the science of forensics and reveal who is behind those crazy capers! Become a super spy and learn clever ways of performing tasks as we take a hands-on view of the science that spies use.

Students are introduced to fundamental digital computer animation. In this class, participants will gain skills that help them learn computer drawing, character movement, frame layering and dialogue matching. Students will work in small groups on animation technique and will complete a short animated film. Students may bring Flash Drives to the last class and will be able to take a copy of their animation home to share with friends and family.
