Policies ALL ACCESS SPORTS AND RECREATION Specialized Programs All Access Sports and Recreation (AASR) provides a wide range of programs for individuals of all ages with all ability levels, including those with ambulatory and cognitive disabilities. Examples of programs, camps and special events offered by AASR include: adapted golf, power soccer, advanced wheelchair basketball, diabetes camp, cooperative dances, fiesta educative conference, group arts, healthy teens, cooking class, play camps, Junior Sports Camp and sports for all. Arts & Crafts Nobody likes a CANCELLED CLASS!

Cartoon Drawing Students will learn the basic techniques of cartooning including; basic line art, perspective and color. Students will use their imagination to create fun and interesting characters. Dance Get up and Dance (CLAP ARTS) Dance to pop hit music and hip hop beats! This class features exciting moves and basic techniques that make for a great workout! Through a blend of popular dance styles and music, students are exposed to a range of genres, including easy-to-learn jazz and hip hop moves. Program culminates with a presentation! Dance Tap/Ballet II (CLAP ARTS) Tap/Ballet II reinforces the basics of both ballet and tap. Students learn rhythm, tempo, and musicality in tap while building on skills and foundations of ballet. Instruction advances with age and ability of participants. Parents are invited back at the end of program for a short performance. Suggested Attire: Comfortable clothes or leotards, tights and tutus. Students should bring Tap /Ballet shoes, but may also wear closed-toe shoes for Tap and bare feet for Ballet. Course#

Music & Theater Continued Piano Youth (SJG)-GROUP

Guitar Lessons– Beginner Youth (SJG)- GROUP This fun and educational class is for the absolute beginner guitarist. Students will be introduced to the basics of guitar playing and music fundamentals by learning fun, contemporary songs. Topics include tuning, chord strumming, "power" chording, blues and the fundamentals of note and rhythm reading. ** Students will need to have their own acoustic guitar or electric guitar. Students will be taught the basics of playing music on the piano/ keyboard. Topics include: basic notes, rhythm and theory as well as finger exercises, chords and scales, all with the goal of being able to play basic keyboard accompaniment parts and fun songs. Keyboards will be provided for students in class. However, students will need a keyboard at home for practice. Recommended resources for purchasing or renting a keyboard will be provided at the first class. **There is an additional $10 fee for materials payable to the instructor in class.

PIANO— PRIVATE LESSONS

Beginning Piano and Keyboards (SJG)-GROUP

Course#

Students will work on music rudiments and songs both as a group as well as receive some individual instruction. Topics include playing chords to popular and classic songs, melody playing and beginning solo piano skills. Class curriculum rotates each session so the student can repeat this class up to 4 times. This class is designed to keep a student active in their musical development in an affordable, low-pressure and fun environment.

Learning to play the piano is a great way to introduce a child to the world of music. This class starts wit basic piano skills and music reading. Giving your child the opportunity to take piano lessons allows them to learn an share a much cherished talent. Keyboards and materials are provided. Access to a keyboard/piano outside of class for practice is ideal. Course#

Sports Karate (Kenpo) Level 1 (DRAGON CLOUD KARATE) Learn a beginning form of martial arts that promotes respect, self esteem, leadership and self-confidence. This class teaches the techniques of kicking, punching, blocking, striking and self-defense. Karate uniforms not required, but are available through the instructor. Mini Gym Stars (DANCE ARTS ACADEMY) A great beginner gymnastic class teaching basic gymnastic skills, including movement exploration, balance, and coordination, and at the same time teaching agility and improving motor skills. Parents are allowed to stay for the first 10 minutes on the first day of class and are encouraged to attend the last class for a great recital. Wear a leotard, stretch pants, sweat pants, or shorts. Karate (Kenpo) Level 2/3 (DRAGON CLOUD KARATE) This is a continuation of the Level 1 class. Students will learn an intermediate form of martial arts which promotes respect, self esteem, leadership and self-confidence. SUMMER CAMPS Camp San Jose At Camp San Jose your child will participate in an unforgettable summer day camp experience combining summer camp traditions with enrichment and educational activities. Children will play crazy fun games, sports, create cool arts and crafts projects, sing funny songs and embark on a weekly field trip. Activities incorporate educational features disguised in fun and entertaining activities and projects. Price includes a low leader to child ratio of 1:10, field trips, a Camp San Jose shirt, skill building, new friendships, disguised learning and much more! Campers need to bring water, lunch and sunscreen each day. *Check with your local community center for a complete list of field trips, lunch programs, scholarships and payment plans. F.I.T CAMP Come join us at F.I.T. Camp, a two-week long camp where your kids will develop a balanced approach of knowledge, skills and confidence to be physically active for a lifetime! Campers will learn healthy habits from our leaders who use evidence based curriculum. This summer, your kids will build friendships, grow their confidence, and benefit from outdoor activities and field trips. *Note: Field trips are subjects to change. Campers need to bring water, lunch and sunscreen each day. Check with your local community center for a complete list of field trips, lunch programs, scholarships and payment plans. Foodies in Training– Cooking Camp (MARLA NAJAM) Campers create edible delights in a fun environment. Recipes are delicious and can be prepared at home (with proper supervision of course) that are both yummy and healthy. Each day will cover a different topic. Some of the dishes are decided by the up and coming chefs. The first day’s camp dish will be instructor's choice. Who knows, this could be their stepping stone to being the next great chef! Course#

Playcamp– (THERAPEUTICS- DEPARTMENT STAFF) This camp is designed for children with disabilities who need a higher level of staff assistance for participation including those with Autism Spectrum disorder. Activities will include arts and crafts, games, circle time, and possibly a field trip. The goals of this program include: increased leisure skills, improved fine motor skills, decreased isolation, and community/friendship building. Children should bring a sack lunch to camp each day. Participants must be able to function in a 1:3 staff to child ratio and be independent with personal care needs or bring an attendant with them.
