A Zumba class is a dynamic and exhilarating fitness program that combines Latin and international music with dance moves It incorporates interval training, alternating fast and slow rhythms, to help improve cardiovascular fitness The atmosphere in a Zumba class is typically energetic and fun, focusing on enjoying the music and the movements rather than perfecting each step Participants of all fitness levels can join, as the moves can often be modified to suit different abilities The class usually lasts about an hour and is led by a certified Zumba instructor who guides the participants through various dance styles such as salsa, reggaetón, merengue, and cumbia, ensuring a full-body workout that feels more like a dance party than a fitness session

At Camp San Jose, campers participate in an unforgettable day camp experience combining camp traditions with enrichment and educational activities. Campers play fun games, sports, create cool arts and crafts projects, and embark on weekly field trips.

In this safe and supportive environment, campers participate in active and engaged learning projects, skill building, youth voice and leadership, and learn healthy choices and behaviors.

Price includes a low leader to camper ratio of 1:10, field trips*, a Camp San Jose shirt, and much more!

*Families opting not to participate in field trips are responsible for finding alternative care for their child(ren) not attending the trip. The City will not provide a prorated refund for those that elect not to participate, nor will onsite care be available. Campers need to bring water, lunch and sunscreen each day. Mayfair Group Arts (Sept. - Dec.)

Come join us for some arts and crafts fun! Throughout the program participants will improve fine motor skills, increase social skills, and learn to expand their creativity Each class will be guided by a City Staff. This program is geared towards groups of people with disabilities. Organization's Staff must accompany clients in 1 to 4 ratio.

Folklorico Dance (Inclusion)

Dance is more than just moving to music. Each season, participants will learn two dances. As part of the learning process, we will teach about the history of the dance and its area of origin. Develop motor skills, rhythm and balance while having fun! This course is designed for individuals with disabilities and their siblings and friends. Please note, participants must be able to function in a 1 to 4 staff to participant ratio and be independent with their personal care or provide an attendant.

Let's Paint!

Ready to paint? Unleash your inner artist as you join us to spend the time painting away. Each class day will present a new twist such as using cottons balls, paper rolls, or sponges as your paint brush. This class is open to all skill levels and each participant will receive an apron.

This class may be a mix of standing or seated. This class is geared towards individuals with disabilities but, anyone may join. Participants must be able to participate in a 1:8 staff to participant ratio and be independent with personal care needs or have a caregiver to assist. *Check online for details of times/date/day.

Let's have breakfast for dinner! Join us as we make a sweet French Toast dish with a side of eggs and/or hash browns. Participants will have the option to add fruits and/or whip cream. Participants must be able to participate in a 1:8 staff to participant ratio and be able to attend to their own personal care needs or have an attendant present.

Monthly Social: Bottled Graveyards

Boo! Join us on this spooky night to create your own mini graveyard inside a mason jar. There will also be a featured short film played during craft with popcorn and candy for snacks. Halloween costumes or attire is highly encouraged. This program is geared towards adults with disabilities, but anyone can join. Participants must be able to participate in a 1:8 staff to participant ratio and be able to attend to their own personal care needs or have an attendant present.

Monthly Social: Turkey Craft

Gobble Gobble! Join us for a craft night creating a work of art perfect for any Thanksgiving table decoration. We will also build mini snack kabobs out of pretzels, ham and cheese. This program is geared towards adults with disabilities, but anyone can join. Participants must be able to participate in a 1:8 staff to participant ratio and be able to attend to their own personal care needs or have an attendant present.

All Access: Holiday Party

Happy Holidays! Come join us for a night of holiday karaoke along with enjoying some sweet snacks and hot chocolate! Participants and attendants are encouraged to wear holiday attire. Teen Center @ Mayfair is a safe and fun place for Teens to spend their days after school. Join us as we offer monthly field trips, barber club & girls club, video game systems from PS5 to Nintendo Switch, pool tables, a computer lab, Citywide sports leagues and much more!

Zay is wrapping up his first year supporting Teen Center as he has gone above and beyond expectations displaying great care and support for our youth. He connects with our Teens on a personal level and is always willing to go out of his way to make sure that they are having a fun time here at program Zay is a great mentor for our Teens and has naturally earned their trust and respect He has displayed great flexibility and reliability this past year as he continues to be an excellent addition to our team here at Mayfair.

Jose is finishing his second year supporting our Teen Center as he does an excellent job of not only connecting with our youth, but also building and keeping trust with our Teens Since joining our team, he has incorporated Barber Club for our Teens where our youth not only learn the craft of cutting hair, but also receive free haircuts once a week. The passion Jose has for our youth is one of the main reason why our Teen Center has reached enrollment numbers we have not seen in years past here at Mayfair.

Denny has been a staff member of the Parks, Recreation, and Neighborhood services team for over 10 years! Denny works rentals and assists with other programs that run out of Mayfair Community Center Denny is a pleasure to work with and has a great sense of humor. In his free time Denny enjoys watching or playing soccer

EDELMIRA MENDOZA

Recreation Leader PT

Edie has been a staff member of the Parks, Recreation, and Neighborhood services team for over 20 years! Edie works rentals here at Mayfair but she also works for Evergreen Community Center’s Senior Nutrition Program Edie is a wonderful staff who welcomes everybody with a warm smile and is always willing to lend a helping hand. In her free time, Edie likes to cook delicious meals for her family and hang out with her grandkids.

Daniel Sanchez has been a staff member of the Parks, Recreation, and Neighborhood services team for over 2 5 years! Along with working in therapeutics, Daniel has also done work with Lake Cunningham Action Sports Park and has just started in our preschool programs. Daniel has been a helpful staff throughout the city and we wish him the best of luck as he continues his education to become a future firefighter!
