ARTS & CRAFTS INTRO TO PASTELS

PRESCHOOL ARTIST

This Fall, you preschooler will "fall" in love with our lessons. Just like the rainbow, our youngest artists will create in the month of September, we will cover a colorful and pattern-rich spectrum of subjects. We'll soak in the warm colors of the sun as we draw a radiating sun face and we'll be careful not to get tangled up in our patterned spider web we draw in October! Learn about Native American culture through a detailed tepee we'll draw in November, and celebrate the coming of the winter months with a nutcracker that takes his job seriously. We'll draw these (and many more exciting lessons!) while we enhance our fine-motor skills, learn to stay on task, and follow directions, and learn skills so critical in the classroom.

Fun-filled days await our students as they learn to draw and color with pastels. We will create detailed, pastel compositions on each week, focusing on a different subject. We will recreate master artist paintings like Vincent Van Gogh's "Starry Nights" or learn about Paul Cezanne's mastery of light and color. Students will also draw eye catching sea stars along the shoreline and will illustrate a sea turtle with bold patterns. Our instruction will bring remarkable results, and you will want to head to the frame shop with your child's finished pastel pieces. FUNDAMENTALS OF DRAWING

Experience the colorful magic of fall in the Young Rembrandts classroom. Kick off the fall season with a cute Bear dressed and ready for school, a video game favorite Pixel Block Character and the geometrical world of architecture as we draw the Notre Dame Cathedral. Later, students will immerse themselves in the seasonal spirit as they learn still life technique of pumpkins, draw a detailed Scarecrow and draw a silly but challenging Patterned Bat. Finally, get ready for winter as we turn out a "sweet" drawing of a ginger bread house (almost good enough to eat!). High-energy dance classes provide hours of fun while improving coordination, stamina and overall fitness. Dance steps are introduced in easy to understand language. Instruction is broken down to simplify the learning process, thereby helping to instill confidence in all dancers. Program culminates with an exciting presentation! Square Dancing is lots of fun. In addition this activity has all of the elements of a healthy life style! Enjoy the light aerobic exercise, the mental stimulation of learning a new skill and the pleasure of making new friends. A FREE drop in program for youth and teens ages 11-18 years old Monday through Friday, 3:00—6:00pm The youth center offers a safe place for youth and teens to spend their afternoons. MUSIC GUITAR LESSONS: LEVEL I

This fun and educational class is for the absolute beginner guitarist. Students will be introduced to the basics of guitar playing and music fundamentals by learning fun, contemporary songs. Topics include tuning, chord strumming, "power" chording, blues and the fundamentals of note and rhythm reading.

Students will be taught the basics of playing music on the piano/keyboard. FUTSAL FIRST TOUCH (INDOOR)

Futsal is a fun, fast-paced 5v5 soccer game, played indoors within the lines of a basketball court (no walls), using a small, size 3, low-bounce ball. In this class players participate in fun educational games. Classes focus on increasing balance, coordination and fundamental futsal skills. We utilize creative fun activities to help kids to cooperate in a group setting and build self esteem in our fun low-pressure environment.

This beginning tennis program will teach your child the basic fundamentals and skills of tennis in a fun and exciting class. Players will also learn basic match play strategies and how to keep score. This program requires no prior tennis experience. Participants must provide their own racquet and wear proper tennis shoes (no black soled shoes, please!). Todd Dissly Athletics (TDA) was honored by Racquet Sports Industry (RSI) as the 2013 Champion of Tennis. In 2012 TDA was awarded the USPTA Service to Tennis Award. Additionally, based on their extensive work and success with junior tennis players, the USTA selected TDA to run one of the first ever Early Development Centers in the country (2011).
