2025 will be remembered as a record breaking year for S Jones, a year of celebration on all levels.

We have welcomed new customers whilst enjoying continued relationships with many others. Our business experience has been strengthened by internal promotions and new colleagues. And a company first for our 111-year legacy - our trophy cabinet is creaking from a host of new awards!

From everyone at S Jones Containers, we wish you a very Merry Christmas and hope that 2026 brings health, happiness and prosperity to all.

Showcase Projects

2025 has been another successful year for S Jones, delivering projects across a range of sectors throughout Great Britain. From bespoke engineered solutions to self storage operators and welfare facilities, we’ve enjoyed working with existing customers and also forging new relationships.

In our Conversions Division, we’ve been enjoying our awards recognition and delivering outstanding projects for an ever-increasing client base. One stand out project involved the design and delivery of a bespoke battery charging solution for traffic management systems manufacturer Traffic Group Signals. The lead acid battery charging unit incorporates a fire alarm system with relay links to a contactor safety circuit to cut power if needed.

We were also proud to continue our relationship with Arabelle, previously GE Power. The mobile workshop solutions we provided will be used at installing stations across numerous project locations. The workshops will house tools, allowing fitters to travel from site to site preparing for wider project mobilisation.

Showcase Projects

Earlier this year our Modular Division supplied modular units for Acciona, a global infrastructure solutions supplier specialising in renewable energy, following a successful project at one of its other sites last year.

After a brief discussion with Acciona to understand the project requirements, we supplied and installed several units including a three-storey, 10-unit joined open plan modular building that formed the site’s canteen and drying room. All units were delivered within a short timeframe and we collaborated closely with Acciona throughout to ensure a seamless process.

Acciona was impressed, and said of our team: “Their ability to adapt the modular design to the tight footprint and to manage crane lifts and onsite assembly with precision was instrumental in the success of the project. This innovative approach enabled S Jones to provide Acciona with the required facilities while maintaining the highest standards of efficiency and site harmony.”

Out & About

In 2025 we hit the road in earnest to showcase our services at several major exhibitions including The Fire Safety Event and The Self Storage Association (SSA) UK Conference.

In addition to exhibiting, we also undertook two panel sessions entitled ‘Electric Revolution, Safety Evolution’ at The Fire Safety Event and the Battery Cells & Systems Expo. We were joined by leading experts from Warwick Manufacturing Group, Electric Safety First and the Fire Protection Association to support our call for definitive legislation regarding lithium-ion batteries in the UK. Our colleagues have also been active, attending events such Subcon UK, IMHX, Education Estates and the Environmental Solutions Expo to demonstrate how shipping containers can meet the unique needs of these sectors and attract exciting new customers.

Awards

It has been a year of recognition for the business, with our people, projects and practices securing seven coveted awards and finalist positions.

We’ve been flying the flag for manufacturing in the West Midlands after being named Small Manufacturer of the Year at the West Midlands Business Awards. But we didn’t stop there! We were also proud Finalists at the Made in the Midlands Awards in two categories - Manufacturer of the Year and Manufacturing Innovation, and were thrilled to win the latter. The trophy represents more than just a win – it reflects our team’s collaborative spirit, innovation, and commitment to excellence.

Our success at the Made in the Midlands Awards gave us a further Finalist place at the Made in the UK Awards. Despite coming away emptyhanded on the night, we are incredibly grateful to the judges for this recognition and to everyone who joined us in celebrating these exciting achievements!

Awards

We continued the year with further successes both locally and nationally. We were honoured to be named Finalists in the Family Business of the Year category at the Express & Star Business Awards, reflecting our long heritage in the region. The event was attended by members of the Jones Family, our Board of Directors and Leadership Team.

Further recognition of our manufacturing capabilities saw us gain Finalists places in two categories at the Make UK Awards for the Midlands & East regionSME of the Region and Innovation Award.

We then ended the year on a high - being named ‘Manufacturing Innovator of the Year’ at the 2025 Innovation Awards, after a year-long process involving a competitive public vote and a panel interview with the judges. The judges were particularly impressed by our Conversions Division’s investment in its battery storage and testing range.

Huge congratulations to all our colleagues who made these successes become reality!

2025 has been a successful year for our colleagues with a number of promotions across the business.

Long-serving colleague Sarah Green has taken on a new role as Head of Operations, transitioning from her position as Senior Manager of Sales, Hire, and Self Store. Meanwhile Andy Nicholls has been promoted from Conversions General Manager to Head of Conversions - a fantastic recognition of his leadership and impact.

Dean Lord, our Depot Manager, is expanding his role to take on additional responsibilities in Business Development and Account Management. Elsewhere in the Depot, Paul Matthews has been promoted from Depot Coordinator to Depot Operations Coordinator. And in our Sales team, Leanne Handley has been promoted to Senior Account Manager.

These changes reflect the incredible talent and dedication within our team, and we’re thrilled to see our people continue to grow and thrive.

Community

Throughout the year, we continued our social value efforts, aiming to make a positive impact in our communities. We’re proud to have been able to support a local charity this year as part of our ‘Charity Box’ initiative. We supplied a 20ft container for The Well, which is home to Wolverhampton Food Bank. The container is now in place, providing much-needed additional space for the charity’s ambient food storage.

We were also active in supporting our local chosen charity, The James Brindley Foundation. As part of helping to spread awareness of the work they undertake, Company Director Jill Buckland starred in a video promoting corporate support for the charity. The aim is to encourage local businesses to collaborate and support the Foundation’s charitable efforts and make a meaningful difference in the community.

Community

This year gave us a welcome chance to pause and spend time together beyond our usual roles. Our Annual Sports Day brought together colleagues from across the business for an afternoon of light-hearted competition, helped along by kind weather and plenty of good humour. It was a simple but enjoyable reminder of how much we value time spent as a team and the connections built along the way.

We were also delighted to mark a special milestone for our Technical Sales Engineer, Les Newick, who celebrated his 70th birthday. Coming together for this occasion allowed us to acknowledge a muchrespected member of the team and celebrate everything Les has achieved during his 16 year career with us. Both events offered a chance to connect, reflect, and appreciate the people who make up our everyday working lives throughout the year.
