Have a holly jolly Christmas...

2024 has marked another strong year for S Jones, bringing with it a number of incredible projects, employee achievements and continued investment in the business.

From everyone at S Jones we wish you a very Merry Christmas and hope that 2025 brings health, happiness and exciting new prospects.

Showcase Projects

2024 has been another successful year for S Jones, delivering projects across our divisions up and down the country. From battery storage solutions to modular sports facilities, and even our essential sale and hire services for sector-leading companies, we’ve successfully supported our clients while forming new partnerships.

In our Conversions Division, we’ve completed some exceptional projects. A stand out collaboration has been with Warwick Manufacturing Group (WMG), where we recently converted a container into a battery testing unit. This partnership, now six years strong, has flourished - seeing us deliver 10 highly specialised units to WMG to date. These containers enable rigorous testing of lithium-ion batteries, playing a vital role in advancing the production of electric vehicle batteries.

Beyond project delivery, we’ve also actively supported calls for updated legislation regarding the manufacturing of powerful lithium-ion batteries, furthering our commitment to innovation and becoming thought leaders within the industry.

Showcase Projects

We recently had the opportunity to work with Avon Tuning, a leading ECU remapping and performance tuning company based in the South West. Due to a new installation, they required additional storage and decided to utilise their yard space with our containerised solutions.

As the project progressed, it evolved into something more dynamic. Avon Tuning decided to attach canopies for vehicle parking and customise each container for workshop use. These modifications included electrical specifications, roller shutters, and personal access doors tailored to their needs.

It was fantastic to see how professional the containers looked on-site, finished in a sleek grey that perfectly aligned with the company’s branding. The attention to detail in the groundworks ensured every container was level, creating a smooth and professional appearance that complements Avon Tuning’s mechanical expertise.

In our Modular Division, we’ve had the pleasure of collaborating with both Chasetown and Hednesford Town football clubs to enhance their facilities. These projects have provided additional amenities for spectators, as well as new club shops and bar areas, improving the match-day experience for fans.

A stand out achievement has been the recent installation of a stunning two-storey, glassfronted hospitality suite at Hednesford Town FC. Constructed from 20 individual 20-foot modular units, this impressive addition includes a balcony overlooking the pitch. It has quickly become the centrepiece of Hednesford’s already exceptional grounds.

The new hospitality suite features a fully equipped bar area, a small kitchen, and a merchandise shop, making it not only perfect for matchday entertainment but also ideal for hosting conferences, meetings, and private events.

Out & About

2024 has been a stand-out year for S Jones, as we hit the road to showcase our services at two major exhibitions: The Self Storage Association (SSA) UK Conference and UK Construction Week.

These events provided us with fantastic opportunities to meet new contacts, strengthen existing relationships, and share the launch of our new StoragePro service, dedicated to helping more self-store businesses grow.

Alongside exhibiting, our Sales Division broadened its reach by attending events such as Intermodal, London Build, and the Container Self-Storage & Traders Association conference. Meanwhile, our conversions team attended The Battery Cells and System Expo and The Fire Safety Event, highlighting how container solutions can meet the unique needs of these sectors and attract exciting new customers.

Out & About

It was wonderful to attend the British Summer Time concert in Hyde Park in July and see our converted containers in action! Completed for repeat client Spacial Installations, the Sakura Japanese Bar is based on a traditional Japanese temple style, and constructed from five modified 30’ shipping containers with a custom made steel tiled roof and Shou Sugi Ban style woodwork.

We also recently visited our valued client Colas, to see our customised containers in action under a National Highways bridge. This was a challenging delivery we’re proud to have completed and equally, the Colas team were delighted with the result! This visit highlighted just how versatile our containers are.

Moving outside the UK, our team visited Austria, the home of one of our valued modular building suppliers, Containex. With shorter lead times, an expanded product range, and a strong partnership with the Containex team, we are energised to drive even greater modular growth in the new year and beyond!

Internal Achievements

This year, there have been several employee achievements across all divisions, highlighting that hard work truly does pays off.

We’re excited to announce three managerial promotions: Andy Nicholls to Conversions General Manager, Dean Lord to Depot Manager, and Charlie Seymour to Operations Admin Manager. Their dedication to department growth and deep understanding of operational excellence has been instrumental in their success.

In our sales department, Chrissie Taylor has been promoted to Senior Account Manager, proving her expertise in sales and hire, along with her dedication to team training.

From everyone at S Jones, we are proud to recognise and celebrate these accomplishmentswell done to all!

Community

This year, S Jones has proudly supported several charitable causes through fundraising efforts that made a real impact in the communities we work in.

In July our Head of Marketing, Aine Girn, took part in the Alzheimer’s Society Trek26 with her partner Paul Williams. Despite some punishing weather on the day, the resilient couple completed the 26 mile hike, raising over £1,500 for this worthy cause.

Our sales team showed incredible dedication for Motor Neurone Disease Research by participating in a 50-mile sponsored walk alongside Squab Storage. Chrissie Taylor and her friends then went even further, by completing a more than challenging 48-mile run in 24 hours. Together, they raised a total of over £2,500.

Community

Further involvement with our local charity The James Brindley Foundation included a generous donation towards their Mission Everest, where James’ family trekked to Everest Base Camp to raise awareness for combating knife crime.

Through our self-storage company, U Can Store It, we’ve proudly contributed to the UK’s strong sports community. We’re proud sponsors of Coventry United FC and have recently partnered with the Albion Foundation, donating containers to support their incredible work in local communities through sports and outreach programs.

Internally, we came together for an energizing company sports day and a celebration of our Company Director Jill Buckland’s 60th birthday. There’s nothing better than coming together for fun, laughter, and of course, healthy competition - marking more special moments on the S Jones journey!
