FROM THE PRESIDENT

Dear Members,

Several weeks ago, I shared, with mixed emotions, the departure of our General Manager, Brett Curley. After years of dedication, hard work, and unmatched passion for our club and its members, Brett has decided to embark on a new chapter in his life. We are eternally grateful for the unwavering commitment he has shown throughout his tenure, shaping the very foundation and experience that so many of us cherish at the club. While we bid him farewell, we wish him nothing but the best in all his future endeavors.

In light of Brett's departure, I am pleased to announce the appointment of Stephen Whiston as Interim General Manager. Stephen has been an integral part of our team, having understood the nuances of our club's operations and the aspirations of our members We are confident that under Stephen's able guidance, the transition will be smooth, and we will continue to provide the unparalleled experience you have come to expect at San Jose Country Club

Board of Governors Elections: Your Voice Matters One of the cornerstones of our club's success is the democratic participation of its members This fall, from September 18th through October 11th, we will be hosting our Board of Governors elections It is an opportunity for you to have your say in the leadership and direction of our esteemed club More details about the election process, including nomination forms, voter guidelines, and candidate profiles, will be made available shortly. I urge every member to actively participate in this election, ensuring we shape a bright future for our club together.

As we step into the fall, we have a plethora of activities lined up for our members. The beauty of the season coupled with the vibrancy of our club events promises a time of excitement, bonding, and rejuvenation. Here's a sneak peek into some of the seasonal activities:

I N M E M O R I U M

On behalf of San Jose Country Club, our thoughts and prayers go out to these families during this difficult time.

He is survived by his wife of nearly 60 years, Judith Chancey Breitmoser ("Judy"), his daughter Katharine Hartland (Bill), his son David Breitmoser (Chace), his brother Richard Breitmoser. Dr. Breitmoser was a beloved member of the San Jose family and will be missed.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Ron Shamlaty Sr., two sons, Ron Shamlaty Jr , Todd Franklin Shamlaty and two grandchildren Janet was an active and wonderful part of the San Jose family and will truly be missed.

Fall is right around the corner, and I am certain every member of San Jose Country Club is looking forward to the cooler temperatures These better days guarantee to keep the golf course busy in the upcoming months so please be mindful of the club rules and regulations We please ask that golfers check in prior to play, have all member and guest names in the tee sheet, and confirm with staff if you will be walking or riding This not only sets our operation up for success but helps us better serve our membership by having bags loaded and charging correctly

DRESS CODE - The Golf Staff has the authority to inform members and their guests of any infraction of the Dress Code Policy. If the member or guest refuses to comply, the incident shall be reported to the Golf Committee. Please remind your guests upon arrival that shirts must be and remain tucked in throughout their visit at San Jose.

Please be reminded that Full Golf members can book tee times up to 7 days in advance, sports members and members in waiting may book tee times Tuesday – Thursday 3 days in advance, you may book Friday, Saturday and Sunday on the same day based on availability and will be charged full guest fee.

San Jose Ladies 36 program is back for the Fall and is sure to fill up fast. We want to give our golfers the best introduction and a long-term development plan to become a skilled golfer. The program gives our staff a way to organize a golfer’s development and measure improvement over time. The end goal is to get all our golfers to shoot (par) 36 from a full tee-box! This fall, our outstanding staff will work hard to help your child advance to the next level of their junior development. We have classes for all levels from our “Red Ball” Program to Tournament level Players.Play will start August 21st and is offered Monday -Thursday after school.

Please make sure to reserve a court online or by calling the pro shop and let us know of any guests that you may have. It is extremely important that all players wear appropriate shoes. No heavy tread!

With the end of the Summer season comes the start of the cooler days of Fall. There’s no better time to re-evaluate and rejuvenate your workout routine. Whether you’re a fitness enthusiast or someone looking to kickstart a healthier lifestyle, the Fall season offers the perfect backdrop to get back on track and embrace positive changes

Please come by the Fitness Center and meet our phenomenal personal trainers and group class instructors. No matter what it is you like to do or whatever fitness level you are at, our trainers and instructors can help you prepare for whatever your goals are.

Do not forget about our final pool party on Labor Day, September 4th from 11am-5pm! There will be a waterslide, pool competitions, and it will be a luau theme! Hope to see you all there!
