FROM THE PRESIDENT

Dear Members,

As we move to November, we want to give thanks for all our blessings as we head to the holiday season. The past month's weather challenges reminded us to count our blessings and to continue to keep our neighbors and friends in thought and prayers.

We are excited to announce our new board members for the 2025 incoming class: Brian Flynn, Melinda Stivers, Chuck Kalb, and Matthew Saxton San Jose is a member-owned club, professionally managed by our GM, with oversight from our elected board The time commitment and service our board provides (while not compensated) is appreciated and usually goes unnoticed I would like to thank those that volunteer and serve our club to make San Jose our special place

We have announced that the fitness center will have a soft opening starting November 11th We are excited to highlight our new renovations but will be waiting on a couple of items to be 100% complete, so bear with us as we finalize all our renovations Our fitness and tennis programs should thrive with new facilities, and I know our directors, Randy and Marie, have some new programs and opportunities for our members to experience. No need to wait for a New Year's resolution!

The board has finalized our budget for 2025 and will be sending out information shortly for members to review The Budget and Finance committee, along with our staff, did an outstanding job in our fiscal responsibility to maintain our clubs expectations and I trust the members will be pleased with our direction

Finally, our Strategic Plan was completed and passed by the board at our October meeting We will be presenting the plan to the club over the next several months as this vision was directed by our members Long-term planning is a key to sustainability and this plan will guide us for the next 10 years

As the holidays approach, I would encourage you to use your club. We do a fantastic job hosting parties and events and the holidays are a perfect time to sit back and let the club do all the work.

See you at the club!

Sincerely,

MEMBERSHIP MATTERS

Additionally, please rake bunkers smoothly after use.

Best Regards,

Congratulations....

What a memorable tournament at the 2024 San Jose Member Member!

Huge congratulations to our champions, Bob Jordan and Judge Scott Mitchell!

Dear San Jose Members,

On September 11, 2024, Dr Kerns, a Professor and Extension Specialist from NC State University, conducted a thorough evaluation of our golf course During his visit, he noted that the recent significant rainfall resulted in flooding, which posed challenges for maintaining optimal course conditions.

Despite these extreme weather conditions, Dr. Kerns commended the greens for being in remarkable shape. He recommended that we consider investing in enhanced cultural practices for turf maintenance to further improve our course quality

Additionally, he suggested the implementation of a comprehensive tree management and removal program, which could play a crucial role in enhancing turf quality. Dr. Kerns emphasized the importance of setting achievable goals to elevate the standards of the golf course.

Finally, he highlighted the necessity of effectively implementing plans and being proactive in addressing cultural practices, drainage solutions, and tree management to ensure continued improvement

We appreciate Dr. Kerns’ insights and look forward to applying his recommendations to enhance our golf course. Thank you all for your continued support.

Cordially,

Congratulations... Three-Peat Complete! The United States has secured victory in the Women’s PGA Cup once again. A huge shoutout to Stephanie Connelly Eiswerth for earning Medalist Honors!

The U.S. Team finished strong, winning by 12 strokes over Team Canada. Way to go, team!
