Dear Members,

This spring season, we ’ re confident our golf course conditions will begin to return to the standard we expect The course is the engine that drives our Club, so we are dedicating more time and resources to ensure it remains a top-notch asset

Superintendent Josh Urbanec and his crew have been implementing our growth and treatment programs despite Mother Nature presenting many challenges, and the Board authorized new equipment to help with maintenance Regular updates will be provided going forward so that we are informed about the progress along the way

In our tennis, pool and fitness renovation, the moisture intrusion problems were resolved, and construction will resume around the first of May Like most remodeling jobs, we uncovered unknown damages and fixed some long-term problems Monthly updates, with photos, will be provided as progress continues Because we ’ re committed to maintaining a high standard for our facilities and taking proactive steps to mitigate future problems, other minor improvement projects will also soon begin This includes refreshing our landscaping and painting building exteriors, which will match the structures after the renovation is complete.

As a reminder, the golf course is only for golfers actively playing. Concerns have grown for the safety of unsupervised children and conditions for golfers. Please be mindful to watch the children and keep them from wandering onto the course. Staff has been asked by the Board to monitor the areas, and we are asking members to comply as well.

Lastly, we’d like to recognize several staff changes and accomplishments. Effective June 1, Membership Director Jessica Payne will transition to an exciting new chapter in her life where she will live abroad and connect with more family She’s been a tremendous asset to our Club and will be missed A replacement for the position has been hired and will soon be introduced to you

Congratulations to Director of Golf Todd Bork, who was just elected to the North Florida PGA Golf Hall of Fame, and Pickleball Professional Karin Ptaszek-Kochis won the US Open Senior Singles If you ’ re interested in pickleball lessons, we ’ ve got the best here for you!

Dear San Jose Members,

As we head into the first week of May, the golf course maintenance team has several important tasks on our agenda to ensure the course remains in top condition for your enjoyment.

We will be conducting bulk fertilizer application to provide essential nutrients to the turf, as well as adding bunker sand where needed to maintain optimal playing conditions. Additionally, our team will be performing aerification on the course to promote healthy turf growth and improve overall playability.

In preparation for the upcoming season, we will also be focusing on landscape bed prep, decluttering, and laying down fresh pine straw to enhance the aesthetic appeal of the course Our team will be working on cart path improvements to ensure safe and smooth navigation for golfers

Irrigation repair and maintenance will also be a priority to ensure proper watering of the course, while we continue treating weeds to maintain a pristine playing surface.

Thank you for your understanding and support as we work diligently to keep our course in top shape

Cordially,

Thank You, Tim Fidler!
