FROM THE PRESIDENT

Fellow Members,

Welcome to the Spring/Summer 2023 at SJCC! From the upcoming Pool Cats competitions to an evening outside on the Donald Ross Terrace, to the multiple golf and tennis offerings for our ladies and gentlemen, I hope that all our members and their families have been enjoying the myriad of experiences this spring.

With several new projects underway, we are accelerating our strategic planning efforts and expect to bring some very exciting plans for capital improvements to the membership in the near future We understand that while we accomplished some of our goals with the completion of the Clubhouse renovation, other areas of our facility are aging, and we need to invest prudently in the future of our Club We will begin a remediation project at our Fitness Center lockerrooms beginning May 1st This is the first phase in the plans to continue to upgrade the Tennis and Fitness facilities Look for more communication to come from our GM on construction that will be taking place in May

San Jose was proud to host another successful Tennis Member-Guest, which is a testament to our Club hosting one of the most prominent tournaments in Jacksonville with over 500 attendees I want to extend a congratulations to the winners of our recent Tennis Member/Guest tournament The competition was fierce, and we were thrilled to see so many of our members and their guests out on the courts. Marie and her team did an amazing job throwing the party of the year! Congratulations to all of the winners, and thank you to everyone who participated.

It’s officially pool season! I am happy to announce that our pool will be opening on May 13th and the snack bar opening on the 19th. We know that many of our members are looking forward to enjoying the warm weather and enjoying time with family and friends at the pool. We will be celebrating Memorial Day at the pool with a special event on May 29th. We will have activities for kids and families with the always popular pool competitions taking place between 1 and 3. This is always a fun event, and we encourage everyone to come out and celebrate with us.

In addition to our pool activities, I want to remind everyone that we will be celebrating Mother's Day at the Club with a special brunch on May 14th This is a wonderful opportunity to show your appreciation for the mothers in your life and to enjoy a delicious meal with family and friends We hope to see many of you there

The Golf Course will be undergoing our yearly Aerification from May 30 through June 9. During this time the Golf Course and Practice Facilities will be closed. If you need help with reciprocal play, please do not hesitate to reach out to the Golf Shop at 904 733 1511

The Course will remain open for play on Memorial Day, Monday, May 29. Carts will be required until 3:00pm.

We are looking forward to a great summer season here in the Golf Shop!

FITNESS & AQUATICS

Hello San Jose family! I am truly grateful to have been given the opportunity to take on the role as your Interim Director of Fitness and Aquatics For those of you that have not met me yet, I am Mhardy Moralita I have been with the club for the past two years as one of the Group Fitness Instructors, Personal Trainers, and then the Assistant Director of Fitness and Aquatics A little background on myself; I am from Pensacola, FL, I completed my undergrad at Florida A&M University, and I served in the US Navy as a Surface Warfare Officer

This month will also be the start of our 2023 swim season! Afternoon practices will kick off Tuesday, May 16th and morning practices will kick off Monday, June 5th I am excited to some familiar and not so familiar faces this season to bring back another trophy to San Jose! I look forward to an amazing summer season with you all!
