Dear Members,
At San Jose, there’s no shortage of reasons to visit your home away from home this summer! As a referral-based club, our sustainability depends on growth and active participation at our facilities and in our programs, especially during this season when engagement is crucial As I mentioned last month, our new Membership Director Amanda Anderson will start June 10 She’ll be diving in quickly to identify opportunities, so please help us support her efforts to recruit new members
The weather has finally cooperated and Josh Urbanec, our course superintendent, and his staff have done a fabulous job in getting the course in terrific shape As we move past the aeration, better conditions will continue for our golfers
The renovation work for the Tennis and Fitness Facility has resumed, with a targeted completion date of Labor Day As with any construction project, this date may shift slightly. Additionally, our Building and Facilities Committee is implementing a phased improvement plan. Exterior painting of the clubhouse has begun, and we will enhance the entrances with new landscaping in the coming months so that our facility makes a great impression when you and guests arrive.
With summer activities in full swing, the staff is excited to implement a new mobile ordering option. You can now have food delivered to the pool or ready for you at the course turn through the click of a few buttons. While we are still ironing out the process, please allow the staff a few weeks to perfect the service. They are ready to assist you with any issues, and in-person ordering remains available Come join us for loads of fun and more memories with your family and friends See you at the club!
Sincerely,
Ladson Montgomery San Jose Club PresidentOn behalf of San Jose Country Club, our thoughts and prayers go out to these families during this difficult time.

Greetings SJCC Members,
As we head into early summer, we would like to thank you all for your increased participation in our special programming! Focused on full family fun, we are delighted that the theme nights and special cooking classes have been so well attended We are looking forward to bringing you more throughout the summer period $5 burger night with snow cones, fun on the patio, and themed buffets will be continuing throughout the calendar, so stay tuned!
We have opened the pool bar for the season and are excited to be back to bring snacks and cool treats as you enjoy the facilities.
In addition, we have continually updated the menus for all periods, including brunch, to bring you some variety while keeping the classics we all love. Try out the new brick oven pizza; it is my personal favorite right now! As always, we love to hear your feedback.

Dear San Jose Members,
We’ve had a great Spring here at San Jose filled with a spectacular tournament calendar, player development programs, and PGA Jr League! We will be hosting our summer junior golf camps during the months of June and July, please see the flyer below for additional details
Be sure to sign up as Stephanie, Evan, and Kyle have a great itinerary that is sure to fulfill your junior golfer’s needs As a reminder the golf course will be closed for aerification from Tuesday, May 28th through Friday, June 7th The hours of golf shop operation will be 8:00 am-2:00 pm each day as we will be here to assist with reciprocals, golf bags, shopping, or any assistance you may need here at the club If youre looking to plan, here is a list of courses that will be available for tee times on a limited basis: Deerwood, Jax Golf & CC, Ponte Vedra Inn and Club, St John’s Golf Club, Eagle Harbor, Eagle Landing, Amelia National, and Slammer & Squire.
Congratulations to our 2024 Lions Pride Member Guest Champions Phil Boccuzzi and Nick Kelley! It was a great shootout as always and at the end, the team of Boccuzzi and Kelley prevailed! Hole 17 seemed to be a test of golf as the Latour team tee shot ended up out of bounds and the Boccuzzi team had to drop after an errant tee shot in the water This forced and chip off and the Boccuzzi team went on to hole 18 to face Matt Saxton and his partner Chris Walters Team Boccuzzi came away with a net par to secure the 2024 Lions Pride Member Guest Title What a great way to cap off our spring season! If you have yet to participate in our member guest, I urge you to do so in the future as it is always a great event!

Dear San Jose Members,
As we continue ongoing efforts to maintain and improve the quality of our golf course, we will soon be undertaking our annual June aerification process. These practices are vital for our golf course's future health and playability. A short list of common practices utilized during aerification is below.
Greens, Tees, and Approaches
Aerify: Increases root zone oxygen, improves water percolation, and more
Verticut: Reduces thatch, organic matter, grain and helps increase turf canopy density, etc
Topdress: Aids in algae mitigation, provides smoother putting surfaces and dilutes organic matter build-up
Fairways and Rough
Aerway
Around the Course
Bed Decluttering: Cleaning and organizing landscape beds to enhance overall course appearance
Tree Work: We removed over 22 dead trees on the course
Electric Work: We have reconnected the electrical work on the 1st tee and event lawn
We understand that the aerification process may cause some inconvenience, and we apologize. However, it's important to note that aerification is a necessary process. These maintenance practices, including aerification, are not just for the present but also the future. They are vital to increasing turf health and playability for our members and guests, ensuring a high-quality golfing experience.
