FROM THE PRESIDENT

Dear Members,

I hope this newsletter finds you well and enjoying the summer season - I wanted to take a moment to update you on some exciting developments happening here at our club while also expressing my gratitude for your continued support and patience

First and foremost, I am thrilled to introduce our new Golf Course Superintendent, Josh Urbanec With his extensive experience and passion, we are confident that Josh will elevate our golfing experience to new heights Please join me in giving him a warm welcome when you see him out on the greens

I am also delighted to share that our efforts to enhance the facilities are well underway. I am pleased to inform you that the construction of the long-awaited golf course restroom will be completed this week and fitness restroom remediation is complete. We understand the importance of providing convenient and accessible amenities for our members, and these new additions will be a small enhancement to your experience at the club. The Fitness remediation will be a temporary solution as we finalize the larger scope renovation project for our fitness/tennis/activity center.

Additionally, I want to express my gratitude to all our dedicated members who continue to make our club a thriving community. Your support and active participation are what make this place truly special. I understand that our ongoing golf maintenance protocols, including aerification and curfew applications, have required your patience. The major rain has had an impact, and our team has worked diligently to ensure a sound recovery. The recent challenges have tested us, but thank you to Andrew Hall, James Wathen (Assistant Superintendents) and the entire maintenance team for remaining steadfast during these ever-important procedures during this interim period Together, we are witnessing the results of our collective patience and efforts as the course regains its pristine beauty

For those of you who have yet to join us for an event or activity this Summer, I encourage you to take part in our upcoming programs Whether it's the upcoming July 4th celebrations, a fitness class, or an evening of alfresco dining, there's something for everyone. Your presence and engagement contribute to the vibrant atmosphere we strive for. Thank you again for being a valued member of our community. We look forward to welcoming you to our improved facilities and continuing to provide exceptional experiences throughout the second half of the year. It’s been a hot start to the summer here at San Jose and there is no sign of cooling down! July is sure to be filled with plenty of family fun events here at the club. We still have a few junior camps you can sign your kids up for, please see the flyer below for further details. Monday July 3rd we will close the golf course and practice facilities at 2pm to plan for our big party which will take place that evening. Please come attend as it is sure to be a great time for the whole family.

Our Men’s Match Play qualifying will be held July Saturday July 22nd – Sunday July 30th. Players may play up to two qualifying attempts at $50+tax per attempt and must announce they are qualifying to the Golf Shop staff prior to teeing off. Turn in signed and attested scorecard after play, please play the ball down and hole all putts! We will have 16 spots for the Black tee gross division, 16 spots for the Gold/Blue tee net division, and 8 spots for the White tee net division.

As a reminder San Jose will be hosting the Jax Amateur July 20th – July 22nd. The golf course will be closed until 12:30 each day, if desire to play elsewhere during this time please contact the golf shop and we will help set up reciprocal play during this time.

Happy July San Jose family! We are already almost halfway through the summer season! Keep taking advantage of these sunny days at the pool! And rest assured that the team here is taking all precautions to keep the pool safe and sanitary for your enjoyment

If you are new to the club, please come by the Fitness Center and myself or one of our experienced Personal Trainers would love to give you an in-depth tour of our gym and help get you started in any health/wellness pursuits you have.

And big shout out to our own San Jose Pool Cats who are having a great swim season! If you have any children that are interested in swim lessons, we have four very experienced Swim Coaches who are available throughout the summer
