Dear Members,
Happy New Year!
It’s an honor to serve as your president in 2025, a year that marks the 100th anniversary of our Donald Ross golf course I look forward to working alongside our Board of Governors, our General Manager and all of you to continue fulfilling our club’s mission of providing a high-quality, family-oriented country club experience
For my family and me, San Jose Country Club has been a place of friendship and celebration for many of life’s major milestones I am committed to preserving the values and enhancing the traditions that make our club a special part of all our lives
I would like to thank Ladson Montgomery and the outgoing Board members for their leadership and contributions to our club Their hard work has laid the foundations for many of the initiatives we embrace and enjoy today To our incoming Board members, thank you for stepping forward to serve – I look forward to collaborating with you.
Over the past year, the Board thoughtfully developed a strategic roadmap to guide the future of our club with purpose and planning. This document is our commitment to continuously elevate the value and benefits of being a member at San Jose Country Club It reflects the input and feedback of our members, staff and industry professionals, and is designed to ensure San Jose Country Club remains a premier destination for golf, family and fellowship. You will begin to see the first steps of our strategic plan coming to life in the months ahead, and it is available on our website for you to preview under Club Resources. We’ll host informational meetings throughout January and February to introduce the details to you.
In addition to executing the strategic plan, fiscal responsibility, transparency and open communication with membership remain priorities for our Board of Governors and staff leadership It’s important you stay engaged, share your thoughts with these representatives, and join us in celebrating all the progress made along the way to enrich the member experience It’s our collective passion and efforts that will continue to make San Jose Country Club a place we are all proud to call a home away from home
As we kick off this milestone year, let’s continue to embrace a future of growth, excellence and community together at San Jose Country Club I invite you to participate in the broad calendar of events planned for January From golf outings to social gatherings and family activities, theres something for everyone to enjoy and build lasting connections
Heres to a remarkable chapter in our club’s history and unforgettable memories!
Warm regards,
Will Morgan San Jose Country Club President
As we close 2024 and eagerly look ahead to 2025, I want to take a moment to reflect on this tremendous year we’ve had and share my excitement about what lies ahead for San Jose Country Club.
I am absolutely thrilled to have joined the San Jose Country Club staff this past year, and I am grateful for the warm welcome I received. It has been a pleasure getting to know many of you, and I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to the members of the Membership Committee who were instrumental in helping me adjust to my new role. A special thank you goes to: John Ambrose, Alex Burton, Chris Chapman, Jessie Hedrick, Kimberley Holland, Jamie Olinto, Doug Saunders, Dawn Siebenhaar, Melinda Stivers, and Connie Turner. Your guidance, support and willingness to answer questions has been invaluable to me as I’ve settled into this position.
2024 has been a wonderful year for San Jose country Club, especially in terms of our new members We welcomed 44 new members this year, 10 more than 2023 This growth is a testament to the strength of our community, and we are thrilled to continue expanding and bringing new faces into the community
The Membership Committee has worked hard to establish a standing Legacy Program for the club This Legacy Program will continue through 2025 This program has already made a significant impact, and we are excited to offer it as a continuing opportunity for members to share the benefits with their family members Legacy Program Details:
The Legacy Program is available to all current members’ children, grandchildren, parents, and grandparents, with initiation fees set as follows based on the membership level:
Full Membership - $25,000 (a $10,000 discount)
Junor Membership - $15,000 (a $10,000 discount)
Sports Membership - $5,000 (a $10,000 discount)

If you have any dependents who are nearing the age of 26, please remember that they will “roll off” the membership at that time. This is a great opportunity to get them involved now!
I want to thank you for all of your continued support and involvement in the club If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me directly at Amanda anderson@sjccjax com or 904-737-9064 I am looking forward to make 2025 an even more successful year!

Dear San Jose Members,
Happy New Year!
As the weather continues to change, Poa will become increasingly problematic. The attached picture shows Poa breakthrough on the ninth tee. Our Golf Course Management (GCM) team has been working diligently to keep Poa under control. Still, due to resistance to safe herbicides, we will need to treat specific areas with products that may harm our Bermudagrass while we attempt to suppress/control the Poa.
As of this newsletter, we have treated the ninth tee and several other locations. If you notice any discoloration in the Bermudagrass in these areas, rest assured, these areas will recover once the weather becomes more favorable for Bermudagrass again.
Cordially,
Josh Urbanec Golf Course Superintendent
Congratulations....

EASY MOZZARELLA CHEESE SNOWMAN SNACK INGREDIENTS
½ Cucumber
Mozzarella Cheese Pearls
2 Slices Carrot
Handful Black Sesame Seeds
INSTRUCTIONS
Cut 12 rounds, each around 1 cm thick, from the cucumber.
Using a mini round cutter, cut circles from the cucumber slices to form the bases of your snowmen.
Push a cocktail stick into the top of a cucumber slice so that it is standing vertically.
Carefully push two mozzarella pearls onto the cocktail stick to make the snowman body and head.
Cut the carrot slices into tiny triangle wedges for the snowman noses.
Push a carrot nose into the head piece of the snowman.
Add black sesame seed eyes and buttons to the snowman, pressing them gently to the mozzarella pearl to stick them in place (you might find this easier to do with tweezers if you have them).
