Highschool Diploma Six Nations Polytechnic Secondary School (SNPSS) offers Ministry of Education accredited high school programs for grades 9 to 12. Our curriculum and extra-curricular programs are rooted in Indigenous ways of knowing and being, blended with Western knowledge. As a high school student at SNPSS, students have access to a variety of courses, clubs and sports; all tuition-free. High school is an exciting time, full of opportunities and a chance to explore areas of interest. SNPSS is committed to creating a learning environment where student achievement and well-being is fostered through culturally rich learning experiences within safe and accepting learning spaces.

SPORTS Six Nations is the self-proclaimed lacrosse capital of the world. Lacrosse games can be seen year-round in Six Nations at the Iroquois Lacrosse Arena and the Six Nations Sports Cultural and Memorial Arena.

At Chiefswood Park, the Six Nations community is also able to enjoy recreational water activities such as kayaking, canoeing, fishing, paddle boarding, water skiing and more. They also offer cultural programming including tours through the territory!

TRANSPORTATION The expanded GO bus services will operate three daily trips in each direction, seven days a week, to the Brantford Bus Terminal. Riders can access McMaster University, and the Lakeshore West GO train service from the bus terminal at Aldershot GO Station.

Admission Requirements • Admission is on the basis of OSSD transcript or equivalent.

• A 65% admission average is required on applicant’s best six Grade 12 University or Mixed (i.e. 12U or 12M courses).

• Students in good standing will also be considered for admission from a college, university or CEGEP program.

Program Summary The Bachelor of Arts in Ogwehoweh Languages (BAOL) is a fully accredited, general three-year undergraduate degree that centers on the Mohawk or Cayuga languages. The program is designed around four key focus areas: language, grammar, lifelong learning, and community engagement.

• Applicants who do not meet requirements as stated above may also be considered on an individual basis for admission as a Mature Student to access limited enrollment.

Program Summary The Honours Bachelor of Arts in Ogwehoweh Languages (HBAOL) is a fully accredited, general four-year undergraduate honours degree that builds on the foundation established in the Bachelor of Arts in Ogwehoweh Languages (BAOL). This program offers a deeper, more advanced exploration of the Mohawk or Cayuga language.

Throughout the Honours program, students can expect a rich and culturally immersive learning experience. Courses include Capstone Project, Master Apprentice, Language Practice, Indigenous Research Methodologies, and Language and Grammar 4. This program is designed to further enhance language proficiency while engaging students in meaningful cultural and community-based learning.

Program Summary The University Consortium Year 1 (UP) is a community-based, one-year university program offered in collaboration with a consortium of six universities. It gives students the chance to complete the first year of a Bachelor of Arts degree within the Six Nations community.

Students can take up to ten courses (30 units) either full-time or part-time. These courses are transferable to undergraduate degree programs at the partner universities, provided grade requirements are met.

Students who successfully complete the Six Nations Polytechnic University Consortium Year 1 Program with a minimum average of 60% qualify for admission into the second year of a range of B.A. programs at one of the partner universities or can continue into Six Nations Polytechnic’s Bachelor of Arts in Ogwehoweh Languages program.

Program Summary The Advanced Diploma in Ǫgwehǫweh Languages program is a two-year immersive program focused on developing advanced speakers in one of the Hodinǫhso:ni’ languages. In 2026–27, the program will center on the Cayuga language. The curriculum emphasizes intensive language learning through the root word method and Cayuga grammatical structures. Students build core skills in vocabulary, grammar, speaking, and listening, with the goal of achieving advanced language proficiency. Throughout the program, learners will develop the ability to create new words, convey complex ideas, and most importantly, think in the language.

Additional Information: Graduates may continue their education in the Bachelor of Arts in Ǫgwehǫweh Languages with Advanced Standing.

Program Summary This program focuses on supporting those living with addictions, mental health, and concurrent disorders.

Learn a wholistic approach to assessments, supports, and treatment recommendations that are inclusive of Indigenous contexts and concepts. Gain knowledge of interventions and pathways for healing individuals, families, and communities. Through academic learning and practical application, students will engage in a 200-hour field placement at a community agency, where they will demonstrate the skills acquired.

Program Summary The Community Integration Through Co-Operative Education (CICE) is a two-year post-secondary program designed for students with developmental disabilities, acquired brain injuries, and other significant learning challenges.

Using wholistic teaching and learning approaches, the CICE courses at SNP include land-based learning, the development of professional and interpersonal skills, technological literacy, and the fostering of independence. The program supports student growth through culturally responsive practices that honour individual strengths and prepare students for meaningful participation in the community.

Students gain hands-on experience through supported field placements in community and workplace settings, allowing them to apply and strengthen their skills in real-world environments.

As students near completion of the program, they are supported in developing a personalized transition plan that reflects their goals for employment, further education, or independent living.

SNPSS educates students in five specific disciplines: Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics. Post-Secondary Student Support Program

If you are an eligible Status Indian or Inuit student, plan to pursue post-secondary studies on a part-time or full-time basis and are registered with an eligible post-secondary institution, you may qualify for financial support through the Post Secondary Education Support Program. Contact your local band office, Inuit designated organization or Indigenous Services Canada (ISC) office to apply, or search online to find out more information.
