2025 Winter Rental Guide

Winter Rentals Overview

For over 38 years, we have been the trusted source for winter g rentals. Our rental kits feature high-performance gear we’ve trusted and sold for years and are the same parkas, snow pants, boots, and accessories relied upon daily by our customers living in Alaska environments.
Tailored to Your Activity Level
Our Kits are based on the level of activity and warmth you’ll need:
Alyeska Kit - Highly Active Adventures: Designed for activities like downhill skiing, where less insulation is ideal for flexibility and comfort.
Iditarod Kit - Moderately Active Adventures: Perfect for activities like snowshoeing or dog sledding, offering a balance of warmth and mobility.
Northern Lights Kit—Mostly Inactive Adventures: This kit is built for long periods of standing in place, such as watching the aurora, and it has the highest levels of insulation for extreme cold.
If you’re unsure which category fits your trip, we’re here to help recommend the best gear to ensure your Alaskan adventure is everything you hoped it would be.

Sizing Your Gear
Properly sizing winter gear is essential for comfort, warmth, and functionality during cold-weather activities. We have detailed size charts online for each rental item.
Room for Layering: Winter gear should accommodate multiple layers (base, mid, and outer) without feeling tight or restricting movement, so if you are in between sizes, always choose the larger size.
Boot Fit: We recommend wool socks with our rental boots. If you are in between sizes, always order the larger size and add a thicker sock. ALWAYS wipe out the inside bottom of your boot every single night of your trip. This is very important as the day's perspiration will cause your feet to be cold the next day. Remove the footbed and wipe the boot completely dry.
Extremities Coverage: Your hats should be fleece-lined, and if you are on an Aurora Viewing tour, we strongly recommend a balaclava to fully cover your head, ears and neck.
Final Tip: We are happy to talk with you about your trip and to help properly fit your gear as that can ensure a comfortable, enjoyable winter adventure.
