Volumetric Modelling

interior perspectives when they were all combined it gave interesting light filterations and also gave amazing spacial experience because of the vage and floating pieces. Making it very interesting to walk through. The sections and renders from the previous page show exactly this.

This is one of the best diagrams that have made that can explain the transofrmation of the Volumetric modelling in an elegant way. As you can see in the diagram, the deconstruction of the whole metric is explained at the right hand side of the page. 1 being the whole pavillion which is composed of culmination of multiple iterations of piece 5. The single aggregation (5) is made of 3 components - Massing, Exploded and Unfloded.

In the exploded part, had exploded the surfaces of the teterahedron and gave the edges a thickness to make a skeleton looking cage. i then doubled down the massed tetrahedron and balanced it into the middle of the exploded shape. to give it support i used the bones of the cage to be joined into the mass.

For the massing part i did the same concept except i now used the small mass at the corner of the big mass. Making it like a floating figure. If you notice well, each of these peices have a similar form of floatation and/or canteliver.

In the Unfoloding volume, unfolded some parts of the square dipyramid surfaces and exploded some of them and massed the other while keep some floating elements in the middle.

This is the same artifact that is on the front cover of this portfolio. This artifact was greatly inspired from the double mobius strip concept where there is ambguity between the inside and the outside and there is a smooth transition and circulation between different parts of the model. The sequential steps show the places where i altered the Sub-D to match the things that i wanted. I agve it a shiny kind of texture to make it more futuristic.

I also had a chance to 3D print it and paint the second intertwined loop to pop out. This gave me a better view of how this strutture could be made with little more alterations to add support.

Bathhouse Project

Bathhouse (Color and Composition)

Vessel 01_caladarium and relaxation pool

in the start of this project we were assigned to deeply analyse a painting and pick out 9 main pieces from the foreground, middleground and background that bring out the paintings essense. we then proceeded to make these 2D pieces into 3D by various RHINO commands. we then joined those 3d shapes to create a unique combination which would later get subtracted from a box so it could occupy space. we later added water and produced some plans, sections and renders to support our ideas.

here ive choosen shapes that are vertically tall so could create a space where people could dive while still being able to walk around the diving spot. the sections show the scale of one person vs the diving area. it is a place where people can completely get lost when theyre in their deep dive.

Vessel 02_Frigidarium and Water Walkway

During this scene hoped to achieve a space that was contrasting to the first bathhouse iteration. The goal was to creare a darker much closed up space. I was able to achieve this by taking smaller pieces and choosing cooler tones of colors so it could give visitors a more of frigidarium/cold sensations. also incopurated a tesslation so it could filter light and enhance the expirience

Vessel 03_Tapedarium and Natatorium

this scene primary focus is using the sun as the way to enhance the bathhouse. one program is placed on the outside much like a pool but is however using tesslation to give this space more interest. On the other hand, the ceiling of program 2 is very unique and has two aperatures at the roof so it could give the space intentional corner lighting (like seen in the renders)

In the final stage of the project we combined Vessel 1 , 2 3 and produced ultimately a complete vessel that had all the pools and water bodies. There was a balanced combination of both vertical and horizontal spaces and also a good balance between wet, dry and light and dark spaces. The projects circulation also travels from top to bottom. The plans and sections were done using illustrator and photoshop. The renders taken from rhino and different modes such as Shaded, Pen, Raytraced, Rendered, Artic etc were used to layer and then post produced on photoshop to achieve the final outlook.
