Meridian Scholarships Cover • Tuition at the in-state rate • Mandatory fees • SIUE housing costs up to the rate of a shared room in the freshman residence hall • Meals at meal plan A rate Scholarships do not pay for Housing or Springboard to Success deposits. Pharmacy, dental and out-of-state students may pay additional tuition costs.
Recipient Notification • Scholarship offers will be mailed by the end of February. • Official scholarship terms and conditions will be shared at that time. • Recipients are asked to accept or decline offers as soon as possible, but no later than May 1.

How to Apply for Federal and State Aid • Obtain an FSA ID for student (and parent, if applicable) • Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at fafsa.ed.gov • The FAFSA is available October 1 prior to the academic year. For example, the 2019-2020 FAFSA was available October 1, 2018. • Use tax information indicated on the FAFSA. For 20192020, use 2017 tax information. After We Receive the FAFSA • The FAFSA may be selected for verification, a federal process required for some applications. • Tax documents and institutional forms are requested to verify the information on the aid application. • If the FAFSA is not selected for verification, or after the file has been verified, an award letter is posted on CougarNet for the student to view.
