Hello folks!
Alongside the trusty Vespa, Lambretta scooters can also be considered as Italian classics and are one of the most produced scooter makes of all
time worldwide. The Lambretta name is derived from the river ‚Lambro‘, which flows close
to the Innocenti factory in Milan.
The main trade of the Innocenti company prior to scooter production was the production of steel tubes and pipes for numerous uses. During the
second world war they were mainly concerned with the manufacture of artillery shell casings and vehicle parts. The idea for the first Lambretta
scooter design was hatched out by the firms owner - Ferdinando Innocenti - and an engineer by the name of Pierluigi Terre. Their common
aim was to create an economical and affordable form of transport for the common population of post-war Italy.
