From the Director …

Neither sleet, nor rain, nor dark of night (nor a global pandemic!) can stop the SFS Drama Project from our appointed dramatic rounds!

I am beyond pleased that we’ve been able to pull off this wonderful smorgasbord of acting exercises, monologues, and two ten-minute plays albeit to a very limited audience of 30 parents and teachers (plus the livestream audience!). This troupe of 19 Middle School students has rehearsed virtually, outdoors, and finally indoors (masked and socially distanced) and demonstrated their commitment and passion for performing since we returned to school.

This mix of improvisation, monologues (hope you have some Kleenex!), and ten-minute plays will have something for everyone! The ten-minutes plays include The Never Before Seen Interview of Norma McClellan (written by SFS alum Max Abner G'09 and also performed at Actors Theater of Louisville's New Voices Festival) and In the Tank, a comic and philosophical treatise on life delivered by two lobsters from a restaurant tank. That is not a misprint! So, settle back and enjoy some live theater for the first time in a long time! But certainly not the last : ) Time to “break some claws!”
