Siksika Nation

Oki Siksika

The Siksika Nation Programs and Services Directory, brought to you by Ohkinniinaa & Ninaaks, is a comprehensive resource designed to connect residents with vital services, opportunities, and support networks throughout our community. It is our intent that this resource would be user-friendly, and provide helpful information about available programs spanning healthcare, education, recreation, social services, and cultural activities.

We acknowledge that navigating community resources can be challenging; that is why this initiative brings together information from Siksika’s departments and entities, organizations, small businesses, and service providers into a single, accessible format that will help community members easily find and access the programs and services they need.

Reporting suspicous activity

As Siksikaikowans, we have always protected our own. Reporting suspicious activity is a powerful act of protection. We can all contribute to crime prevention and ensure our communities and family are safe. Reporting suspicious activity helps us build a safer environment.

By reporting unusual activities as soon as you see them, you can provide the Public Safety team with the necessary information to take preventive measures and intervene before a crime occurs. When community members are observant and proactive in reporting suspicious behaviour, potential criminals know to stay away.

Build an emergency kit

When dangerous situations arise, it’s important to act quickly. Having an emergency kit can help reduce the stress of making important decisions in urgent situations.

Get ready by building a kit. Choose bins, backpacks or rolling suitcases and fill them with supplies to last several days. Store them in a place where you can grab them quickly and easily.

When you build your kit, consider additional needs such as:

• Pregnant or breastfeeding

• Infants and small children

• Mobility

• Cultural, religious, spiritual

• Severe allergies or dietary restrictions

• Chronic medical conditions and medical equipment with back up power (talk to your healthcare professional for advice)

How to Report Suspicious Activity:

When reporting suspicious activity to the RCMP or Public Safety team, offer as many details as possible. For example, you can describe any identifying features, such as clothing or physical characteristics, along with license plate numbers.

You may be asked to provide:

• Your personal information, including your name, address and telephone number

• Date(s) and time(s) of the events or behaviours

• Where it happened

• If anybody else was around

• Was it the first time?

• Protect Your Neighbors. Report Suspicious Activity at (403) 734-3815

What to pack

• Non-perishable food and water

• Change(s) of clothing appropriate for the season

• Extra undergarments and socks

• Sleeping bag or emergency heat blanket

• Battery-powered or crank flashlights/lamps
