This lamp inspired by the Bauhaus Movement incorporates clean, straight lines and geometric shapes in its design. The dynamic and linear form of the lamp’s structure reflects a sense of energy often spirited in Kandinsky’s artwork. The joinery and construction indicate that the DIY quality inspired the IKEA school of thought. The assembly and the disassembly process can be carried out with ease due to the simple interlocking mechanism used in its construction.
Concept Development
Quick ideations to create an asymmetrical composition that maintains visual balance. The embrace of simplicity with a modern twist in the lamp’s design is true to the Bauhaus emphasis on minimalism and functionality. The 3D printed base, wooden legs, and metal shade will exhibit an interesting juxtaposition.

The space is an attempt to explore how artisanal intervention can change the way a conventional building is designed. The spaces and the interior elements are designed using certain craft processes by artisans themselves making sustainability not only environmental but also economic.
The idea is to understand and use craft processes to build an interior architecture design that can establish a sustainable practice achieved by direct collaboration between artisans and designers.

A week-long workshop by the Auroville Bamboo Center, Tamil Nadu, introduced us to the different techniques to work with bamboo. The idea was for the light to highlight the intriguing surface of the bamboo root, a rhizome, as well as light up the nearby surroundings, using LED-lit thin strips of Bamboo.

A week-long collaborative project was done as an attempt to engage with two new softwares - Rhino and Grasshopper in order to understand and create quick parametric and automated designs. The task was to create an iterative and interactive design to the point of fabrication and final production.
Iterations
The idea was to create a piece of furniture with either horizontal or vertical stacking. The basic shape of a star was taken to create an organic shape leading to the organic form of the structure. Every unit was rotated by 5° in sets of three.
Height - 500mm Width - 600mm Radius - 300mm
The joinery was achieved by passing the five rods through the entire structure. Each plank has a spacer in between.
