Dust your chimney before lighting a fire. Keep your trees away from fireplaces, radiators, etc.

Turn off your tree and decorations and toys when not in use.

Your tree should have a stable platform, preventing it from tipping over.

Lock your vehicle up tight when shopping during busy holiday season. Thieves wait for opportunities to break into unlocked vehicles.

Flame resistant trees should be considered over real, as they are less likely to catch on fire with lights.

If you are going to drink at holiday parties, drink responsibly and never drink and drive.

Make sure you keep lit candles away from wreaths, garland, and the tree.

Chocolate can be potentially fatal to your fur babies. Keep treats away from pets.

Water real trees regularly.

Check your lights for kinks, fraying, or bare spots. Also turn off your tree after several hours of being lit.

Switch utensils, and clean all surfaces to be sure to avoid cross contamination.

Reheated food should always reach a temperature of at least 74° before eating to avoid food poisoning.
