Assistant Coach • First Season
KYLE JONES Kyle Jones enters his second season as the head coach of the Storm in 2025-26. Jones spent three years as the top assistant coach at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. The Titans were 57-26 during that span, winning two regular season conference championships as well as one tournament championship. The program made two NCAA Division III Tournament appearances, advancing as far as the Elite Eight in 2023. Jones helped coach two first team All-Americans, two conference MVPs, and seven all-conference selections. Originally from East Troy, Wis., Jones earned his bachelor’s degree in business management from Carroll University in 2012. He was a fouryear starter for the Pioneer men’s basketball program, playing in 99 games and accumulating 1,054 career points. The team achieved a 61-38 record during his four seasons and advanced to the second round of the NCAA DIII Championship his senior year. Jones transitioned into a graduate assistant coaching role at Carroll in 2013 and achieved a master’s degree in business administration two years later. He was promoted to associate head coach ahead of the 2017-18 campaign and spent eight total seasons on the Pioneer sidelines before making his way to UW-Oshkosh.

FACILITIES Steven Johnson Fitness Center The Steven Johnson Fitness Center opened to the Simpson community in January 2014, creating a first-class, comprehensive fitness complex located at the heart of campus. The $6 million project is highlighted by a two-tier workout facility consisting of a 5,500 square foot strength and conditioning center and a 4,500-square foot exercise and fitness center. The picturesque facility overlooks Buxton Stadium. In addition to the Fitness Center, the 2014 renovation included additional classroom and meeting space, administrative and academic suites, an expanded wrestling room, a cheer, dance and multipurpose room, a new Hall of Fame display, an exercise science and athletic training lab and a Swim Ex rehabilitation and therapy pool. Cowles Fieldhouse Opened in 1976, Cowles Fieldhouse is located inside of the Cowles Center, a multipurpose athletic and physical education facility. It has served as home to Simpson volleyball and basketball teams since the late 70s, with the basketball teams beginning competition in 1976 when it opened followed by volleyball in 1977. The Simpson gymnastics teams began competing in the fieldhouse in 2023. The fieldhouse seats 3,000 spectators and features a new HVAC system and hardwood floor installed in 2022 as well as a LED videoboard display introduced in 2013. In 2023, both the men’s and women’s locker rooms located south of the fieldhouse were renovated.
